After installing the Align and Distribute plug-in you will see in the Add-Ins tab two new panels with various buttons.
Aligning objects
There are two ways to align an object with the Align&Distribute plug-in, by Main Command or by Quick Commands.
Main Align Command
- Click on the button Align or type command ALIDEF.
- Select the objects you want to align.
- Specify the alignment axis, which can be X, Y or Z.
- Specify the position, like LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT.
- Press enter or space and the selected objects will be aligned.
Quick Align Command
- Click on the button that represents the type of alignment that you want, or type his command.
Tip: To better understand the action of each command, stop the mouse on the button of command and wait for the tooltip to expand, an image describing the action of the command will be displayed.
- Select the objects you want to align.
- Press enter or space and the selected objects will be aligned.
Distributing objects
Like Align, there are two ways to distribute an object with the Align&Distribute plug-in, by Main Command or by Quick Commands.
By Main Distribute Command
- Click on the button Distribute or type command DISDEF.
- Select the objects you want to distribute.
- Specify the distribution axis, which can be X, Y or Z.
- Specify the position, like LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT or GAP.
- Specify the value of the spacing between each object or press 'Enter' to use the suggested spacing.
Tip: The suggested spacing value is obtained by dividing the distance between the first and the last object positioned in the direction of the distribution.
- Press enter or space and the selected objects will be distributed.
Quick Distribute Commands
- Click on the button that represents the type of distribution that you want, or type his command.
- Select the objects that you want to distribute.
- Press enter or space and the selected objects will be distributed.
Aligning and distributing objects in an array
Through the Align&Distribute plug-in, you can align and distribute objects at the same time, in the array panel you will see three command groups, Stretch, Dist and Dummy.
Pressing each of these groups will be shown two buttons with different ways to perform this command, by Line or by Path.
Aligning and distributing objects in Matrix
Through the Align&Distribute plug-in, you can align and distribute objects in a temporary grid, in the Matrix panel you will see two commands, Draw Grid and Detect Grid.

Installation/Uninstallation
The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
To use this plugin your computer must have an internet connection (just to check your licence) and you have to be logged in AutoCAD with the same account you purchase this plug-in in Autodesk APP STORE.
