This app can be used to select entities based on the properties of the selected sample entity. All supported properties of the entity will be displayed in a DCL box.

General Usage Instructions

Run command SS or XC_SS.

Select a sample entity then a dialog box will be displayed, with the properties of the selected entity.

Select the properties based on which other similar entities needs to be filtered out then click on ‘Select All’

Then the filtered out entities are highlighted.

The properties dialog box that appears is composed of three parts:

  1. "Common properties" i.e. properties of all the entities in the drawing.
  2. The second part is the specific properties of the selected sample entity.
  3. The third part is "Additional properties" which are not supported by the standard "ssget" function.

SS or XC_SS

Command can be redefined as "ssg" like this: (defun c:ssg () (c:xc_ss)) If "SS" command was used by another app, the app will only show "Type "XC_SS" to begin" while loaded, and "XC_SS" command can be used to start the app.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Additional Information

Known Issues

In Autodesk® AutoCAD Civil 3D® the ‘SS’ command doesn’t work. So you need to use the ‘XC_SS’ command.
