Make text in your drawings scannable using any mobile phone or tablet with a camera. All you need is one of many available QR code reader applications for your device, and this plug-in.

QR Codes, also called mobile barcodes, can represent plain text, URLs, contact information, or geographic coordinates (using the FIELD command). Any existing text objects can be converted to QR codes by setting the Optically Scannable (text) property to 'yes' in the Property palette.

It works perfectly in autocad 2018. I like to have it in Revit.

  • Question
    albert medina | June 06, 2017

Looking to use this for the file path but it doesn't autosave a new QR code when I make changes or move directories. Anyone know if this is possible with this product or something else in the market?

I used it in my titleblocks, with "fields" so to have the scannable sheet code. But it doesn't print, even if it shows in my print preview. So useless. Edit: just found that it doesn't plot if printer is set to "print transparency" Furtermore, it is not usable in a Attribute, I have to add it to each title block instead of havoing it as part of the titleblock attribute.

I also feel this tool is not reliable, for example, my NOKIA928 read QR codes, display and output does not recognize

  • Straightforward and effective.

Quite straightforward, a setting to adjust the size of the white border would be useful. Furthemore: 1. AutoCAD 2013 SP2 breaks it (QR codes are not displayed any more for mtext that was already set as a QRcode). 2. Lacks international support.

  • Great tool, but only for AutoCAD 2013 :(

Is it possible to make a version compatible with AutoCAD 2012?

  • Great tool, but only for English characters for now.

It is a great tool, but doesn't seem to support other language yet. For a testing, I entered some Korean characters and generated QR code using this tool. When I tried to read the code using my iPhone, it only shows broken chracters as a output.
