Define Clash Tests
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
- (Optional) Edit the Navisworks Clash Matrix Excel file template from the following installation path:
- C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\CreateClashTests.bundle\Contents\Files\Navisworks Clash Matrix\02. Clash Detection Matrix-S2-P02.xlsx
- Make sure the Search set names in Navisworks match the Test Names in the Excel file and that the connecting cell has “Test Name” written in it
- The tolerance is written in the intersecting cell between two search set names in the Excel file
- Define the clash test type in the tolerance cell, Nothing = Hard, H = Hard, HC = Hard (Conservative), C = Clearance, and D = Duplicates
- Run the Add-In
- Browse for the Excel or CSV Clashes File, choose your settings, press “Start”
In case you are using version 2018, you may face an authentication error, please try to run the Add-In first using any higher version of Navisworks.

Installation/Uninstallation
After downloading the app from the Autodesk App Store, uninstall the previous version of the app, and double-click on the 'Navisworks-Define_Clash_Tests_V1.6.msi' file to install the app.
You need to sign in with an A360 account (from the information center) the first time you run the Add-In to make sure you are allowed to use it.
Installation location is:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\CreateClashTests.bundle\Contents\[Version]
Uninstall:
To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall Define Clash Tests, as you would any other application from your system.
Additional Information
Sample files containing the sample search sets and the sample clash matrix are available in the following path:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\CreateClashTests.bundle\Contents\Files\Navisworks Clash Matrix\
The test name separator: Edit the Separator from the form, the plugin will add a space before and after the separator
Auto Number Clashes: Check to number each clash test
Composite Object Clashing: Check to enable composite object clashing
Sort by excel columns: check to sort the created clashes in columns order
Known Issues
If the tolerance is not written in the Excel file, no clash test will be created
