After installing the add-in, Navisworks will display a new “Federate” tab containing a single Federate button.

1. Start the Federate Process

1. Open Navisworks.
2. Go to the Federate tab.
3. Click the Federate button.

2. Select the Main Folder

A folder selection window will appear.

Choose the root folder that contains discipline folders and NWC files.

Example structure: 

Root Folder ├── Architectural ├── Structural ├── MEP

3. Automatic Folder Processing

The add-in will:

• Scan all subfolders recursively
• Detect all .nwc files
• Create an NWD file for each folder that contains NWC files
• Generate a final federated NWD in the root folder

4. Output Files

For each folder, an NWD file will be generated with the same name as the folder: 

Architectural.nwd Structural.nwd MEP.nwd Root Folder.nwd (final federated model)

5. Completion 

When processing is complete, a message box will display the location of the final federated NWD.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plugin from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plugin. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
