Use Export File to convert an AutoCAD drawing to a layout-ready .dusty file
- Click Export File in the Dusty tab to process the entire file or select items before clicking this button to process only the selected elements
- Choose which layers should be printed, used for reference, for marking obstacles, or ignored
- Assign line styles to print layers
- Run an preprocess routine to remove non-printing elements, remove overlapping lines, join collinear segments, and segment ellipses and splines
- If exporting to the Dusty Portal, choose the destination project, building, and layout
- If exporting to a local file, chose its location
Use Import Layout to convert a .dusty file to an AutoCAD drawing
- Select a project, building, and layout from the Dusty Portal, or choose a local file to import

Installation/Uninstallation
The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. Make sure that the Autodesk product is completely closed when running the installer. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
Sign In
- Click the Sign In button in the Dusty tab and log in using your Dusty Portal credentials.
- If you don’t have an account, ask a teammate to invite you via the Portal or contact support@dustyrobotics.com
- Once signed in, you’re ready to export robot-ready layout files directly from AutoCAD
