General Usage Instructions
After installation, you will get some catalogs and specs in your content folder.
Several ways you can use them into your project are shown as below.
- PIP Specs can be used in your project directly.
- Create a new spec in Spec Editor, here you can add some pipes, fittings and valves from the catalogs to meet your project’s requirements.
- Modify an existing spec in Spec Editor.
In Project Setup, you can modify piping connection settings, customize end types, specify plant 3D path and file locations, etc.

These catalogs are compatible with AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017 and higher version.
This installer will copy ASME catalogs and specs into your content Catalog location:
- C:\AutoCAD Plant 3D Content\ CPak ASME\
Before running this installer package, please backup your existing ASME catalogs and PIP specs.
This installer will replace your existing “DefaultConnectorsConfig.xml” and “NominalDiameterMap.csv”. So before running this installer package, please backup the existing files from the below location:
• C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD\PLNT3D\en-US\
• C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD\
To uninstall this content pack, please go to Control Panel => Programs and Features => select the "CPak ASME 2020" => Uninstall
Since these are the updated version of the ASME catalogs, it is advised not to uninstall them.
