Family Names has a simple yet intuitive design, you can rename families as simple as double-clicking in the table and pressing save.
Family Names offer other features such as adding prefixes or suffices, find, and replace.
You can easily change names from Excel by saving the table in Excel, changing the names there, and importing the Excel back into the app.
With family names, you can also define rules to validate your design names. You can also use a special composer designed to combine parameter values with the actual name so that naming is more suggestive.

Very nice app
Very usefull app, good that it's possible to edit names in excel,
But a couple of improvement suggestions:
-there is likely a bug when trying to edit field using F2 key (although it is possible to edit just typing - very convinient)
-if it would be possible to export in excel only selected families - less time would be spending on filtering table in excel

one more thing - I was not be able to find "pipe insulations" and "duct insulations" categories, please add them if it's possible

This addon turned to be one of the best addons we have purchased. It is quick and have several options to update the family names. Very recommended.
Ik heb dit tot nu toe nog maar een keer gebruikt maar ben nu al super blij er mee. Het is een simpele en snelle manier om al je families te hernoemen in 5 seconde. Dit heb ik voor een project moeten doen omdat de opdrachtgever alle elementen met zijn letters wou hebben. Dit zou me anders minimaal een uur gekost hebben nu was ik in letterlijk 5 seconden klaar en heb ik het al terug verdient.
Very nice app, straightforward, user firendly, with good features such as "Find and replace", "Name rules", working almost in no time...in short excellent! It also came at the right moment, when my company was searching for a fast method to apply the client's standards for naming the families. I warmfully recommend it.
Use the wrapper functionality to add prefix and sufix to your family names.
Fast, straight forward renaming of Families and Family Types. Worth every dime.
