BreakerRating is a plugin for Autodesk® Revit® that calculates the breaker standard rating according to the load of each created electrical circuit.

General Usage Instructions

The plugin has 3 buttons: Rating, data, and table.

The plugin associates 3 shared parameters to the category of electrical circuits:

• brfactor: Shared parameter type number; it is a factor equal to or greater than 1 (Recommended 1.25), which is multiplied by the apparent current (Revit Parameter) of each circuit to choose the next size up of the standard values of the NEC NFPA 70 standard breakers.

• brminimun: Shared parameter type number; it is a parameter that can be 15 A, 20 A, 25 A or 30 A, which means that it is the standard minimum value that the circuit breaker will consider.

• brbreakerpoles: Shared parameter type text; it combines the values of the Rating and the number of poles in the circuit (Example: 25/2, 25 A / 2 poles).

The Rating button calculates the standard capacity of the breaker by multiplying the parameter brfactor*apparent current, to select the immediate superior standard among the following values: 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 600, 700, 800, 1000, 1200, 1600, 2000, 2500, 3000.

The Rating button assigns to the aforementioned shared parameters the corresponding values and to the Rating parameter the standard value, adjusting the Wire Size of the circuit.

The Data button shows a window to save the work values corresponding to the breaker factor (brfactor) and the minimum value (brminimun).

The Table button shows an electric circuit-type table with the calculated parameters.

Once a circuit has been created, the shared parameters will be empty. When the Rating button is run, these values will be assigned numbers or texts. To modify these values (brfactor and brminimun), once this button is executed, the brfactor and brminium values must be adjusted in the circuit table.
