General Usage Instructions

To get started with the content studio, review the YouTube guides here: https://www.youtube.com/user/contentstudiorevit

Once the app is installed, register with your email and set up an account.

Configure a file storage point on your company network where your published files will live and you have a quality-controlled library management system.  Setup can be achieved in less than 5 minutes.

IMPORTANT:

  • YOU MUST ALLOW CONTENT STUDIO TO COMMUNICATE WITH OUR WEB SERVICE THROUGH YOUR FIREWALL TO MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT. BLOCKING THE INTERNET CONNECTION WILL CAUSE CONTENT STUDIO TO GO OFFLINE.
  • TO RESET YOUR ACCOUNT AT ANY TIME, HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY AND DOUBLE-CLICK THE CONTENT STUDIO ICON

Installation/Uninstallation

Content Studio is optimized to run as a client-side installation with centralized management tools. There are no on-premise server-side elements to install, simply install, register and setup an account. Configure a file storage point on your company network where your published files will live and you have a quality-controlled library management system.  Setup can be achieved in less than 5 minutes.

IMPORTANT: YOU MUST ALLOW CONTENT STUDIO TO COMMUNICATE WITH OUR WEB SERVICE THROUGH YOUR FIREWALL TO MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT. BLOCKING THE INTERNET CONNECTION WILL CAUSE CONTENT STUDIO TO GO OFFLINE.

Installation Instructions

To install the application, run the downloaded .EXE or .MSI file on any windows PC. Follow the prompts and register with your email address to create an account.

Uninstall Instructions

To uninstall the application, open the Add/Remove programs tool in Windows. Locate the Content Studio application and click remove.

Bug Fixes and Updates

  • Request Content Tool: Removing miss-typed tags from posts was not removing the predictive keyword if the post had been deleted.  Now fixed

Bug Fixes and Updates

  • Recent modifications include the following updates (Revit 2014/2015)

    • Search pallet crashes on multiple family types load from a type catalogue - fixed

    • Commas within text field parameters inside type catalogues now accepted i.e. "this is, the description"

    • When using 'Save Families' from a project, selecting families in a category lost its selection if the category was collapsed. Fixed

    • Display Unapproved listings in Search Pallet when

    • Add Files and Folders - Date Modified fixed to read correctly

    • Reload Families via the project browser now points to the 'in-use' folder 

    • Editing type catalogues now
