This tool is designed to distribute sprinklers according to Hazard based on NFPA 13 and takes into account that sprinklers become a host in the ceiling.

General Usage Instructions

This application is divided into many panels:

  1. Hazard Type
  2. Details of Selected Sprinkler
  3. Details of Selected Room/Space
  4. Organization Tools
  5. Distribute Sprinklers in All Rooms
  6. Distribute Sprinklers in All Spaces
  7. Activation Code
  8. Connection Information

 

The following points illustrate the steps:

1) Select Hazard Type (Light, Ordinary or Extra Hazard), or you can enter the distance between sprinkler by selecting “By User Defined” and enter the value of spacing between sprinkler.

Sprinkler Head Spacing

The table below shows sprinkler spacing requirements based on NFPA 13. This table shall be used only as a tool for architects. The actual design of a sprinkler system MUST be done by a Professional Engineer for each project.

Maximum Distance from Wall: half (1/2) of the maximum distance between sprinkler heads. 

2) Select Sprinkler, then some details related to sprinkler appears

3) The user selects one of three solutions:

  • Distribute Sprinklers in one room and space inactive view by selecting it in the panel “Details of Selected Room/Space”, and click “Run”
  • Distribute Sprinklers in all Rooms by selecting panel “Distribute Sprinklers in All Rooms” and click “Run”
  • Distribute Sprinklers in all Spaces by selecting panel “Distribute Sprinklers in All Spaces” and click “Run”

 

4) Noting that the ceilings must be the same type to host the sprinklers.

5) Any height of spaces or rooms being created must reach the ceilings or above and spaces or rooms must have active volume computations.

6) If space or room is a complicated shape, you must divide the complicated shape into simple shapes or rectangle shapes by using space separator or room separator or adjust the height of space or room manually to reach the ceiling.

7) This tool will work with any Revit version until 2020.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
