ETools – Placement
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
Place One
This tool allows you to insert a copy of any selected family instance exactly in the middle between two picked points.
Workflow:
You can either select an element before launching the tool, or start the tool first and then select the element in the model.
After selecting the element to copy, you will be prompted to pick two points.
The new element will be placed centered between them.
You can disable Instruction window by checking "Don't show again".
Place Array
This tool lets you create a grid (array) of elements evenly distributed between two corner points.
Workflow:
First, select an element in the model or pick it when prompted.
Then a dialog will appear where you define number of rows and number of columns
Note: The total number of elements must not exceed 1000.
After entering the layout values, you’ll be asked to click two opposite corners of the area.
The plugin will automatically calculate equal spacing between objects (x) and half spacing (x/2) from the outer edges and place the array accurately and symmetrically
This is ideal for centering lighting fixtures and other MEP devices.
Tips:
Instruction window can be disabled with "Don't show again" checkboxes.
Works in plan views (floor and ceiling).
