Families Shared Parameters ReplacementWin64, English
General Usage Instructions
To run the application, you need to click the application button on the Add-Ins tab in Autodesk® Revit®. The application window will open. At first you need to choose the external shared parameters file which contains the new parameters' values you want to copy by clicking the appropriate button. Then run the uploaded family’s analysis (pre-copying them into separate folder).
After that you will see the family’s list in the left side of the window. When selected, you will see a chosen family's parameters table. In this table you need to choose new parameters.
Then you should press the "Replace parameters" button and choose the file save location (the folder must differ from the original).
The application will perform the parameters replacement and save modified families in the selected location.
If the subscription is active the application launches, otherwise the main application window will not open and pop-up information message will be displayed.

A. There shouldn't be nested grouped elements in uploaded families for the proper work of the application, because the application has no access to editing groups.
It's highly recommended to preliminarily ungroup all groups within the family, followed by removing groups in Project Browser.
If preliminary family check option is enabled (the flag is set active), the application preliminary analyses the existence of groups inside families and requests the confirmation when found. You can try to replace parameters in any case, but it may increase the risk of errors (in rare situations).
The errors occur with a complex family with multi-level nested elements' groups.
B. There shouldn't be parameters' duplicates as a result of replacing parameters.
C. FSP replacement is provided only for shared families.
D. There shouldn't be families' back-up files (named like "Family_name.001.rfa") among uploaded families. Otherwise, they will be automatically deleted from the result by the application.
E. The application doesn't analyze subfolders in the uploaded families folder.
In case if families have problem elements (i.e. some elements are attached to other elements, not planes) Revit warning alerts may appear. Depending on the user's choice, the replacement process may or may not be cancelled.
The Revit version of the external families' saved files must match the Autodesk version where the application is running.
If parameters’ duplicates come out as a result of replacing parameters, an error occurs.
