Bird Tools - Tag Alignment Tool

Bird Tools - Tag Alignment Tool

Win64, English

Building Information Researchers and Developers OÜ
Aligns Autodesk® Revit® tags, room tags, space tags, area tags, and text notes automatically, and offers an Annotation dashboard to dynamically control selected/new leader geometries and angles.

General Usage Instructions

Once installed and once a monthly subscription/free trial is obtained, and after the user signs into his/her Autodesk account, this tool can be accessed through the push buttons that can be found under the “Bird Tools” tab of the Revit ribbon.

For the alignment tool, and whether the tags and text notes in question were preselected or not, the configuration form will be shown once the aforementioned button is clicked.

The alignment angle in degrees can then be selected through the slider, or entered in the appropriate textbox. The alignment side and alignment points can now be picked separately for an easier and more user-friendly operation.

The user may specify the vertical spacing between the tags in case he/she finds that the default distance is not convenient for him/her.

An option for “intermittent alignment” allows the user to reduce the space occupied by the tags once the execution of the command is over. Once this option is checked, the user will be allowed to configure the horizontal spacing between the tags.

Another option for constant landing distance makes the alignment based on the tags having a constant landing distance, rather than a common angle.

Note that all these options can be set once and that they are remembered the next time the tool is used, whether in the current session or in a future one.

Once all the parameters are configured, the user is prompted to select the tags and/or the text notes to be aligned (unless they were preselected). The user then selects the position of the closest tag to the tagged elements with a mouse click. The user can keep on repeating the alignment process infinitely until he's satisfied with the results. When satisfied, he can cancel the command with the <Esc> key and the aligned tags would keep their final alignment.

Not only can this add-in align the tags/text notes, it can also control the leader properties through its all new Annotation Dashboard.

The Annotation Dashboard is a modeless configuration interface that can be kept opened and modified while working. It allows users to dynamically control tag leader properties, such as landing distance, leader length, and leader angle, and leader orientation, for selected tags or visible tags.

Not only that, it can also be configured to automatically process newly added tags as soon as they are added.
