- The main area is for controlling the selection of views and sheets to export.
- 'Export Configurations': open a dialog where you can manage all export configurations used in the tool.
- 'Export Now': opens a dialog for quickly exporting views and sheets from the current project using a selected configuration.
- 'Batch Export Editor': edit a Batch File, which then will be used to export with multiple configurations—or even across multiple projects.
- 'Schedule Batch Export': to set up and manage scheduled tasks that run batch exports automatically at a specific time.
EXPORT CONFIGURATIONS MANAGER
Open the Export Configurations Manager to create or edit export settings.
To make a new configuration, click Duplicate, then give it a name.
Subfolder Section:
This section controls how subfolders are created within your export folder.
You can customize the subfolder name by combining any available parameters. This is especially useful when organizing files by export date.
You also have the option to group files by their export format, making them even easier to manage.
Export Formats Section:
Here, you can select which file formats to export, just tick the checkboxes next to the formats you need.
Format-Specific Options
Each format has its own tab for customizing detailed options.
For exporting to PDF, DWG, DGN, and IFC, you can refer to the export settings saved within your Autodesk® Revit® project.
When exporting to DWG, there are two additional options available:
- You can choose to clean PCP files.
- or to bind images as OLE objects after export (Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2017 or later must be installed on your system).
You can export it to reuse later or transfer it to another machine.
EXPORT NOW
This section is to quickly export the current project using a selected export configuration.
- Choose how you’d like to include views and sheets for export. The status bar at the bottom will show how many views and sheets are currently selected.
- Pick an export configuration from the list. If needed, you can click the three-dot button to edit the configuration on the fly.
- Browse to select the output folder where the exported files will be saved.
- When you're ready, click 'Export' to begin the process.
- As the export runs, a list will display the status of each item, along with detailed error messages if anything goes wrong.
- You can also click to open individual exported files or the folder containing them.
For the DWG export, if the Bind Images option is enabled, once the DWG export is complete, the tool will automatically launch the appropriate version of AutoCAD to bind the images and then clean up the bound image files.
BATCH EXPORT EDITOR
A Batch Export File stores all the necessary information to run exports across multiple models and export configurations. It can also be used to schedule anonymous export tasks, which will run automatically at a specified time. The Batch Export Editor helps you create and manage these Batch Export files.
- Click ‘New’ to create a new batch file, or ‘Open’ to edit an existing one.
- Specify an output folder where all exported files will be saved.
- Then, begin adding items to the list by pairing a View Sheet List with one or more Export Configurations.
- Each pair tells the tool which views and sheets to export, and which configurations to use for exporting those views and sheets.
- By adding multiple View Sheet Lists, you can automate exports for multiple models in a single batch.
When everything is ready, you can save the batch file to schedule it to run at a specific time, or click ‘Export Now’ to start the export process. The tool will launch a new Revit session to perform the export.
SCHEDULE BATCH EXPORT
This feature lets you automate your batch exports to run at a specific time, perfect for hands-free exporting.
