General Usage Instructions
RevEx Usage Instructions:
Launch Autodesk® Revit®.
Click the icon for RevEx which will be found under the tab "RevDev Studios", on the panel entitled "Spreadsheet Utilities"
In order to create a new link click the "Create Link" button on the main form. Subsequent dialog boxes will appear with options on how to customize your link. The first set of options requires you to pick an element category to collect elements from, a project phase, and whether to include linked elements, type parameters, or only export element types.
The dialog following this one allows you to customize identity information for the link which will help you remember what information you have stored in what link. You can customize the parameters you wish to export from the list show. All parameters of all elements in this category will be present, even if not all elements have all the parameters. This is important to note as it adds functionality to RevEx that other add-ins like it lack. Once you select your parameters you may choose to sort or filter elements by a particular parameter setting. Once finished you may preview your link by clicking the "Preview" button. If the link is to your liking you should export the link by clicking the "Export" button. The link will then be created and your settings will be saved so that subsequent uses of the add-in still hold the information for all the links you have created thus far.
In addition to the comprehensive "create new link" feature, you may also choose to select a schedule from a list of schedules in your project to export as a link. This has the same functionality of the create link feature but instead of requiring you to select parameters, formatting, and sorting options, all of that is already done for you in the schedule that is already created. Once exported, the schedule link can be modified in Microsoft Excel and then used to update the model information same as any other link.
If elements have changed drastically since your last visit, you might want to export an entirely new link for the same options previous stored. To do this, select the link in the links list box and then click the "Export New Link" button under the "Existing" groupbox. This will use all the same options previously stored and export a new link, in place of the old one, will all the new model information.
To update the model information from a link, simply select the link in the links list box and then click "Update model" button under the "Existing" groupbox.
You may also choose to remove links from the add-in by using the button "Remove Link".
If you desire to purchase and use the full version of RevEx, got to the "About" menu tab, click "Version" and then "Register" using the activation key that you purchased from http://www.revdevstudios.com/products

The trial for the product is BUILT IN to this file. All the users have to do is start trial, then it will ping a server that I have set up.
