Setout Point Coordinate

Setout Point Coordinate

Win64, English

Theptech
An application to schedule X, Y, and Z coordinates for a site, project, building or an object.

General Usage Instructions

Go to the "theptech.com Apps" Ribbon tab  ⇒

“ Site|Project SetoutPoint Coordinates” Ribbon panel  ⇒

”Setout Point" Button will prompt you to place instances of a “Setout Point Marker” Autodesk® Revit® family to the points where the coordinates are to be exported and scheduled.

The family type property has shared parameters to hold the data for scheduling.

“SetoutPoint-Easting” | “SetoutPoint-Northing”

(for holding easting and northing value)

“SetoutPoint-X_Coordinate” | “SetoutPoint-Y_Coordinate” | ”SetoutPoint-Z_Coordinate”

(for holding X, Y and Z values)

It is important not to change these shared parameter names!

After placing the family, you can then identify Setout Mark points by numbers and specify location marks on the construction drawings.

Accurate numbering of the marker point is important because this way any communication between the design engineer, the construction engineer, and the installation contractor regarding reporting and recording is made easy when they can mention each set out point by an identification tag.

The methods of numbering depend on the engineer's preference. They can be numeric or alphanumeric.

“Rename” button can automatically number every instance of the setout point family with an option to set a prefix. You can select "All Family Types" in the Setout Point Marker Revit family or select the  specific type to be numbered.

Click Update, and the App will populate the “Mark” property of all the instances of selection type in the project with number + prefix.

Clicking the “Coordinate” button will launch the “theptech - Setout Point Coordinate” form.

Click the Update Button and the App will automatically extract the relevant X, Y & Z coordinates of given points from the model and populate the Setout Mark point family parameters with the X, Y, and Z coordinates. They can be formatted and placed on a drawing sheet.

" theptech - Setout Point Coordinate” form will display the updated Family information on list box, under results.
