Navigate to the add-in

To use the FORMlab Renamer Revit Add-In:
- Open a Revit Document.
- Navigate to the FORMlab tab.
- Click the Rename button to open the Renamer window.

Select Element Category

• In the Renamer window, start by selecting the element category you want to rename from the dropdown menu.
• This determines which type of elements (walls, doors, windows, etc.) will be affected by the renaming operation.
• The available categories are based on the elements present in your Revit model. If a category has no elements in the current model, it will not be listed.

Fill in Find and Replace Values

• Enter the text you want to search for in the names of elements from the selected category. Find field.
• Enter the new text in the Replace field that you want to use instead of the found text. This can remain empty if you only want to delete the found text.
• The renaming operation will find all instances of the "Find" text and replace them with the "Replace" text for elements in the selected category.

Preview Changes

• Before making any actual changes to your model, you can click the Preview button to see which elements will be renamed and what their new names will be.
• This allows you to verify that the renaming operation will produce the desired results before committing to the changes.

Apply the Rename Operation

• Once you're satisfied with the preview results, click the Rename button to apply the changes to your Revit model.
• The selected elements will be renamed according to your find and replace criteria.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. Make sure that the Autodesk product is completely closed when running the installer.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
