Setup

Install AG View Bookmarks via the Autodesk App Store and restart Revit.

Go to the Add-Ins tab in the Revit ribbon, where the plugin’s panel is located.

Optionally, set a keyboard shortcut for quicker toggling of the plugin window using Revit's Keyboard Shortcuts settings.

Adding Bookmarks

Open the desired view, sheet, or schedule in Revit.

Open the AG View Bookmarks window from the Add-Ins tab.

Click the Add Bookmark button to save the current item as a bookmark.

The bookmark is saved automatically, with no need for manual file management or saving. The plugin ensures the bookmark is tied to the project file path and the user account.

Navigating Bookmarks

Open the plugin window from the Add-Ins tab or by using the assigned shortcut.

Browse the list of bookmarks displayed in the window.

Select a bookmark to instantly navigate to its associated view, sheet, or schedule.

Managing Bookmarks

Renaming Bookmarks: Update the name of the associated view, sheet, or schedule directly in the Revit project. The bookmark updates automatically to reflect the change.

Deleting Bookmarks: Click "Remove All Bookmarks" button.

Exporting Bookmarks: Use the Export button to save all bookmarks as an XML file. The XML file can be shared with team members or used as a backup.

Importing Bookmarks: Use the Import button to load a previously saved set of bookmarks. The imported bookmarks will be linked to the current project, as long as the view identifiers match.

Best Practices and Tips

Assign a shortcut to toggle the bookmarks window for quicker access during active modeling sessions.

Export bookmarks at key project milestones to create backups or share them with others on the team.

Regularly refresh the plugin window to ensure that bookmarks are up-to-date, especially after renaming views or schedules.

Example Workflow

A user bookmarks the key views and sheets needed for a weekly project coordination meeting.

During the meeting, the user quickly navigates between saved bookmarks, eliminating delays caused by searching through the project browser.

If a view name changes after a project update, the plugin automatically updates the bookmark, ensuring continued accuracy.

The user exports the bookmarks at the end of the meeting and shares them with a colleague working on a related project.

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
