CALDIMO is a plugin for Autodesk® Revit® that sizes each power electrical circuit according to the IEC 60364-5-52.

General Usage Instructions

The plugin associates 17 shared parameters to the category of electrical circuits:

1. CS_Ib: (Number type) - Load current in Amperes.

2. CS_loncor: (Number type) - The length in meters of the electrical circuit considered for the plugin's work is equal in the first run of the calculations button to the length of the circuit calculated by Revit.

3. CS_Iz: (Number type) - The allowable current of the conductor in Amperes.

4. CS_mont: (Text type) - Type of installation: A1, A2, B1, B2, C, D, E or F.

5. CS_desVfinalporciento: (Number type) - Percentage of voltage drop: 0.5 % to 6 %.

6. CS_factork: (Number type) - Derating k factor for the wire calculation.

7. CS_tubo: (Number type) - The diameter of the conduit is in millimeters.

8. CS_material: (Text type) - Material of the wire: Cu-Coopper or Al-Aluminum.

10. CS_ais: (Text type) - Type of insulation of the wire: PVC or XLP.

11. CS_fase: (Text type) - Phase of connection of the circuit.

12. CS_Pcalculo: (Number type) - Power of calculation in Watts.

CS_Pcalculo = (True load) * CS_fu

True load: Default project parameter of Revit.

13. CS_CalibreMinimo: (Number type) - Minimum wire size: 1.5 mm2 to 6 mm2.

14. CS_fu: (Number type) - Load utilization coefficient of the circuit.

15. CS_dVc: (Number type) - Voltage drop calculated in percentage.

16. CS_factorbreaker: (Number type) - Factor breaker that is considered to calculate the breaker rating.

17. CS_Seccion: (Text type) - Wire size in mm2.

The plugin works with the standards ratings of wires of the IEC 60364-5-52 standard (1.5 mm2 to 240 mm2) and calculates from 1 to 6 conductors in each phase, according to the load.

1. CS_Inbreaker:

2. Breaker rating: (Number type) - Values in Amperes: 6, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 400, 630, 800, 1000, 1250, 1600, 2000, 2500, 3200, 4000, 5000, 6300, 8000.

The plugin has 5 buttons: Calculations, data, edit circuits, schedule and help:

1. Calculations: This button calculates the breaker rating, wire size, and conduit size, all these based on all data such as type of conductor, and installations; the calculations of the wire size are based on the first moment of the load and it is reviewed to voltage drop, currents coordination (Ib<=In<=Iz) and max value of length based to a curve C breaker.

2. Data: This button shows a window called Calculation Values to save the work values corresponding to the breaker factor, the derating factor of wires, the minimum value of wire, the material and insulation of the wires, installation, the value of voltage drop, and a Yes/No point to consider the length of the Revit always (Yes) or only in the first run of Calculations (No).

3. Edit circuits: This button shows a window called Edit Circuits, which allows the user to change the following data of the circuits selected: Wire material, wire insulation, installation, and minimum wire size.

These values can also be modified in the schedules.

4. Schedule: This button creates an electrical circuits schedule with all the data considered and shared parameters:

a. Default project parameters:

-       Panel Name.

-       Load Name.

-       Comments.

-       True Load.

-       Number of poles.

-       Voltage.

-       Power factor.

b. Shared parameters created by CALDIMO:

-       F.U: CS_fu.

-       Pcal (W): CS_Pcalculo.

-       Lcal (m): CS_loncor.

-       VD-Data(%): CS_desVfinalporciento.

-       Insulation: CS_ais.

-       Material: CS_material.

-       Installation: CS_mont.

-       Min.Wire: CS_CalibreMinimo.

-       Fac.Breaker: CS_factorbreaker.

-       K-Wire: CS_factork.

-       Ib (A): CS_Ib.

-       In (A): CS_Inbreaker.

-       Iz (A): CS_Iz.

-       Wire size: CS_Seccion.

-       Conduit: CS_tubo.

-       VD-Calculated (%): CS_dVc.

 5. Help: The Help button displays help.

Once a circuit has been created, the shared parameters will be empty. When the Calculations button is run, these values will be assigned numbers or texts.
