Enhance spatial visualization in Autodesk® Revit® with 3D Room/Space Tags. Generate 3D tags displaying room/space names & numbers across all phases & linked models for clear & efficient model reviews.

General Usage Instructions

Launching the Add-In:

  • Open Revit and navigate to the project where you want to generate 3D tags.
  • Click the add-in button to start the tool.

Selecting Spatial Elements:

  • The add-in retrieves spatial information (Rooms and Spaces) from the current and all linked models, organized by phase.
  • Select the specific Rooms and Spaces you want to create 3D tags for.

Tag Generation:

  • Choose the workset and phase where the tags will be created.
  • If the necessary 3D tag family is not present, the add-in will load it automatically.

Managing Tags:

  • Modify the generated 3D tag family to fit your needs (ensure the custom family includes "Name" and "Number" text parameters).
  • You can generate multiple variations of tags using different families.

Deleting Tags:

  • Remove existing 3D tags by selecting the relevant family and type, or delete all tags at once.

Pro Tip:

  • While Revit's API doesn’t allow automatic manipulation of Design Options, you can manually place 3D tags into non-primary Design Options for enhanced visibility control.
  • The default family includes a subcategory that can be toggled off if necessary.

After installation, you may need to restart your Autodesk product for the app/plug-in to activate.

Uninstallation:

To uninstall the plug-in:

  • Close the Autodesk product if it is currently running.
  • Either rerun the installer and select the "Uninstall" option or:
  • Navigate to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (for Windows 10/11) and uninstall the app as you would any other program.
