FBX Exporter

FBX Exporter

Win64, English

Archilizer
Batch exports Autodesk® Revit® geometry to individual FBX files.

General Usage Instructions

How to start: Only usable in 3D view. Pick a folder to export into.

Workflow: It is highly recommended to hide all unnecessary information from your view. Objects with no geometry will still be exported - as this will take computational power but will yield empty files, it's advisable to hide all 2D families.

File Names: FBX Exporter follows a naming convention that allows you to manipulate your elements later on.

Commands

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this plug-in from Autodesk App Store has already installed the plug-in. You may need to restart Autodesk Product to activate the plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8/8.1/10) or Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Additional Information

The process is computationally intensive and will cause the current Revit instance to 'freeze' during the execution of the script.

You can optimize the process by hiding all unnecessary elements from the scene or even splitting the export process in separate sessions.

Known Issues

This plugin uses the existing FBX exporting capabilities of Revit with no post production of the model. The quality of the exported files will be the same as when exporting manually from Revit, therefore any issues with UV mapping, inverted faces will still occur.
