General Usage Instructions

Install as an Autodesk® Revit® add-in under the Family Editor Ribbon.

Family Type Exporter will place all family parameters and related properties into a Datagrid.

Select the parameters in the desired order for the Type Catalog or bulk select all required parameters. Then click the 'Export' button.

A Type Catalog .txt file is generated in the family folder, matching the family name.

Export all parameter properties shown in the Datagrid to an external Excel file.

Optionally, export any nested families with proper name formatting and assignments to each host parameter FamilyType.

To make edits to the Type Catalog, it is suggested to use Family Type Manager Pro to quickly update all Type Catalog values.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
