VA+ COVID-19 SDP app

VA+ COVID-19 SDP app

Win64, English

VA+
A Tool for evaluating social distancing compliance in existing and proposed layouts of indoor spaces using Autodesk® Revit® families

General Usage Instructions

  1. In your Revit model, navigate to a plan view.

  2. Begin placing the provided workstation family at all workstations on your plan.
This can be done using the [Place Workspace] button in the add-in, manually or from existing VAplus_Workspace families already placed in the model, if available.

Note: Please be aware that these families are intended to show overlap and conflict of workstations. Additional care must be taken to ensure all workstations are placed.

  3. Selecting the [Evaluate] button on a data table row will generate an analysis and enlarged view of the room (or Level if no rooms are present) plan, indicating which workstations are in violation of your desired social distancing radius.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin.

You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

To remove the temporary journaling files the add-in creates while running, delete the C:\VAPlus\CSDPT\ folder.
(for the older version, you may need to also delete the C:\VAPlus\WSDPT\ folder)

Additional Information

The workspace family is included in the package, the add-in will search for it and create a reference file indicating its location for future access and flexibility of storage, starting with locations it expects, and those advised by Autodesk.

There are multiple commands in the included manifest file which must be included for the add-in to run properly. These commands will not do anything on their own unless they are launched from within the Add-Ins main application (the one the user can access from the ribbon), and are not intended to have their own icons and accessibility beyond the normal Addin menu.

The WSDPT help .htm file should be in the same directory as the .dll library.

Known Issues

Exceptionally large, or abnormally content-heavy models are known to have issues displaying evaluation results or populating other data. Models with many Levels in unusual elevation proximity sometimes have issues with workspaces landing on one Level but reporting on another. This can also happen if Rooms are "leaking" through levels, are set to unusual calculation elevations, or if there are overlapping Room regions in the model.

The add-in shows compromised performance in a work shared environment because it requires full access to the parameters of all of its Workspace family instances while running. It is advised in the included instructions to run this in Detached or non-work shared models only.
