Create Dimensions in 3D Views

Create Dimensions in 3D Views

Win64, English

Content Origin
Quickly create work planes and dimensions in 3D views by selecting elements or existing dimensions.

General Usage Instructions

  1. The user will open a sheet containing viewports, or a model view, then activate the Iso Dimension command in the ‘Add-Ins’ ribbon tab.
  2. If used in a plan, section, or elevation view, the work plane selection step is skipped, and the Autodesk® Revit® Aligned Dimension command is activated.
  3. If used on a sheet without a viewport activated, this tool will attempt to activate the first 3D viewport found.
  4. Click on an MEP element and a symbol is displayed on the nearest connector, showing a preview of the work plane that will be created.
  5. Click repeatedly to rotate the work plane around that same connector, aligning with the connector or with the model.
  6. Click on an existing dimension to inherit its work plane.

Press the Escape key to accept the work plane and automatically begin placing dimensions with Revit’s Aligned Dimension command. End the dimension command and this tool repeats automatically until no work plane is selected or no dimension is created.
