General usage instructions

1. Open Revit.
2. If you are prompted with a dialog for the Revit Add-in, select the "Always Load" option.
3. Under the "Add-ins" tab in Revit, you will see an "Upload to Drawboard" option. Note: please save your current Revit project before using this Add-in.

To upload drawings to Drawboard Projects

1. Open the Add-in and, under "We share one project in the cloud", click to log in with your existing Drawboard Projects username and password. If you don't have one yet, register for a free trial at https://projects.drawboard.com/register
2. Select an existing project to upload drawings to. You can search project titles and descriptions to quickly find the project you're looking for.
3. Select the sheets from the Revit model that you wish to upload to Projects.
4. Edit the sheet names, numbers and revisions as required. Anything you enter here will only be visible inside Projects and won't affect the sheets themselves within Revit.
5. If you upload a drawing whose drawing number already exists in Projects and give it a new revision, this is treated as a "supersede" operation: the existing revision in Projects will be locked to prevent any further markup.
6. It's not possible to upload a drawing where both the drawing number and the revision already exist in Projects. The Add-in will warn you so that you can change the revision.
7. The Add-in will attempt to calculate the page size of each sheet automatically. If you wish to override this for any sheet, select another size from the dropdown for that sheet. Be aware that the drawing will be "zoomed to fit", which may affect the drawing scale.
8. If you also wish to save your sheet PDFs locally to your computer, check the "Save sheets on the computer" box next to "Upload sheets" in the bottom right of the window. To change the save location, click on it, then navigate to your preferred directory and click "Select folder".
9. Select the "Upload sheets" button.
10. Revit will export and then upload all your sheets. The Revit export process can take some time before uploading begins.
11. Once all sheets have been uploaded, the Add-in will show a "Publishing complete" message. From there, you can open these drawings in Drawboard Projects by clicking "Open in Drawboard Projects" at the bottom of the Add-in window, or use the "Copy URL" button beside it to send the project location to your team members.

To upload drawings to Drawboard PDF

1. Open the Add-in and, under "I mark up single files, not a whole set", click to log in with your existing Drawboard PDF username and password. If you don't have one yet, register for a free trial at https://pdf.drawboard.com/
2. Select the sheets from the Revit model that you wish to upload into Drawboard PDF.
3. Edit the sheet names, numbers and revisions as required. Anything you enter here will only be visible inside Drawboard PDF and won't affect the sheets themselves within Revit.
4. The Add-in will attempt to calculate the page size of each sheet automatically. If you wish to override this for any sheet, select another size from the dropdown for that sheet. Be aware that the drawing will be "zoomed to fit", which may affect the drawing scale.

To switch between Drawboard Projects and Drawboard PDF

1. After opening the Add-in, click the "Home" button towards the top left of the Add-in dialog to return to the front screen.
2. Under "We share one project in the cloud", click to log in to Drawboard Projects with your existing Drawboard Projects username and password. If you don't have one yet, register for a free trial at https://projects.drawboard.com/register
3. Under "I mark up single files, not a whole set", click to log in to Drawboard PDF with your existing Drawboard PDF username and password. If you don't have one yet, register for a free trial at https://pdf.drawboard.com/

1. Download the add-in installation file.
2. Uninstall the existing Drawboard Projects Revit Add-in.
   1. Navigate to Windows Settings, then Apps, then Installed Apps.
   2. Click ... beside Drawboard Projects Revit Addin and choose Uninstall.
3. Unzip the folder and double-click on DrawboardRevitAddinInstaller.exe to start the installation process.
4. Follow the steps in the installer.
5. If a Windows prompt appears, allow the installation to continue.
6. Once the installation is complete, close the installer and proceed to open Revit.
