1. DEFAULT BEHAVIOR

Out of the box, the Exporter generates a basic QR code using the "Sheet Number" parameter from Autodesk® Revit®. This results in a functional, high-contrast QR code linked to the drawing's digital record.

2. CUSTOMIZING QR CODES

Click the "Profile Settings" button to access the configuration menu. Here you can edit existing profiles (e.g., branding changes), rename them, or create new profiles for specific export types (e.g., "Client Drop" vs "Internal Check").

3. CUSTOMIZING DRAWING NAMES

By default, filenames are based on the "Sheet Number". You can modify this in the Profile Settings by adding additional parameters (like "Current Revision" or custom shared parameters). The interface allows you to build a naming string by selecting available Revit parameters from the list.

4. QR CODE STYLING

In the "QR Code" tab of Profile Settings, you can transform the code's look:

- Styles: Switch between Standard (squares), Dots, Rounded, or Pixels.

- Colors: Apply solid colors or gradients (Fade Left-Right, Top-Down, etc.).

- Logos: Enable the logo feature to place your company brand in the center (supported formats: PNG).

5. TITLE BLOCK LOCATION

To adjust where the QR code appears on your drawing:

- Click the "TB Config" (Title Block Config) button on the main dashboard.

- Select your specific Title Block family.

- Adjust the X and Y coordinates (in mm) relative to the Title Block origin (typically 0,0).

- Set the desired size (width/height). Pro Tip: Test with a size of 25mm-30mm for best readability.

6. SYNC STATUS & COLORS

The Exporter Dashboard provides a live status view for every sheet:

- GREEN (Up to Date): The drawing is synced with the latest version online.

- RED (Outdated / Not Registered): The drawing on paper is older than the digital version, or it is a new drawing that has not yet been registered.

- ORANGE (Missing Revision): The sheet in Revit is missing a Revision Number parameter, which is required for version control.

7. EXPORTING & SYNCING

- Select the sheets you wish to process using the checkboxes.

- Click "Run Export" to generate the codes and register the versions.

- If a drawing is already Green (Up to Date), re-running the export will update the metadata (like name or description) without incrementing the version number or consuming a new token.

8. TOKEN MANAGEMENT

The system uses a token-based model for new registrations.

- Updating existing drawings (Green status) is free.

- Registering new drawings or new revisions consumes tokens.

- If you have insufficient tokens, the system will notify you. Top-ups can be purchased directly via the Penguin Tools plugin site.

Pro Tip: Use the "External Locations" feature to store your official company QR styles on the network. This ensures every project uses the correct branding automatically!

Simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Remove Penguim Tools Installer" & click Finish button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
