usBIM.revolution

Win64, English

ACCA software
Transform Autodesk® Revit® into a powerful openBIM tool: Enhance collaboration and track, monitor and optimize the entire building lifecycle with seamless open format integration.

General Usage Instructions

To use usBIM.revolution, first open the dedicated panel from the ACCA menu by clicking the “revolution” button within the “usBIM” group. This panel gives you direct access to the IFC properties editor, model management tools, and classification functions—all integrated into the Revit workspace.

  1. Once the panel is open, you can manage IFC properties at both the single object and type level: selecting an object in Revit automatically opens the usBIM.revolution IFC editor, where you can define the name, IFC class, predefined type, object type, and all necessary IFC properties. These settings are saved and associated with the selected object. Activating "Use Type" applies the same logic at the IFC type level, allowing properties to be shared across all instances of that Revit type. You can also copy IFC properties from another Revit object via the dedicated copy command from another entity.
  2. The most recurring property configurations can be standardized using IFC templates: selecting an object with already filled properties allows you to save its setup as a new template by assigning a name, which can then be applied to other Revit objects via the template loading command, overwriting the object's properties and IFC set with those of the template; the entire template library can be exported to a JSON file for backup or reuse on other projects, just as it can be imported from external JSON files, overwriting existing templates with those contained in the selected file.
  3. Once property definitions are complete, the IFC model can be saved and managed directly on usBIM: from the ACCA menu, via the "Save IFC" command, select the destination folder and start the upload, at the end of which a confirmation message is displayed and the file is opened in the IFC Model tab of usBIM.browser; similarly, the "Link IFC" command allows you to select an IFC file already stored on usBIM and link it to the current Revit model, ensuring continuous synchronization between the authoring environment and the usBIM platform.
  4. Regarding classifications, in the IFC Classification tab, you can create new classifications by entering the relevant data, associate a classification system and code, select the objects to link to that code, and optionally define an identifying color; classifications can also be managed via JSON files, importing existing classification structures with the import command or exporting those in use with the export command, to reuse, standardize, and share them across different projects and teams.
