General Usage Instructions

Launching the Add-In

  1. Open Autodesk® Revit® and navigate to the project and the view where you want to apply view filters, typically a 3D view.
  2. Click the add-in button on the Add-Ins tab to launch the tool.

Model Setup

  1. Click Initial Shared Parameter & Filters Setup to automatically create the required shared parameter and generate view filters based on it.
  2. Optionally, adjust the view filter transparency level. This setting will be applied to all filters once the setup process is completed.

Assign Level to Elements

  1. Click Pick Model Elements... to select elements in the model for which you want to change the reference level.
  2. If you need to select elements that are part of Revit Groups, check the Select Element in Revit Groups option.
  3. Choose the desired target level from the dropdown list.
  4. Click Assign Level to apply the change.
  5. Repeat the process for all required elements.

Model Clean-Up

  1. You can clear filters from the current view or the entire model.
  2. To fully reset, use the delete option to remove all items created by the add-in (shared parameter and filters).

OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.

Additional Information

Known Issues

Due to the complexity of element relationships within MEP systems in Revit, changing the reference level of multiple elements simultaneously may produce unforeseen results. It is therefore recommended to modify elements in smaller batches, exit the add-in after each operation, and save your work regularly.
