The Advance Steel Extension for Revit allows you to exchange BIM data from your models between Autodesk® Revit® and Autodesk® Advance Steel®. You can export, import and synchronize BIM data.

General Usage Instructions

Using the Advance Steel Extension, the structural models created in Revit, can be exported in a BIM data format ( smlx). The smlx file can then be imported in Advance Steel, to continue the workflow by structural steel detailing capabilities to create fabrication documents. 

Conversely, models can be transfered from Advance Steel to Revit as well.

Users can also track changes in the same model in the different applications using the synchronization feature.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this application from Autodesk App store has already installed Advance Steel 2018 Extension. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the plug-in.

To uninstall Advance Steel 2018 Extension, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer by downloading it again from Autodesk App store, and select the 'Uninstall' button, or you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features' or Add/Remove Programs, just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.
