Simplify data management in Autodesk® Revit® - focus on the parameters that matter

General Usage Instructions

Navigate to the add-in

  1. To use the FORMlab ParameterFocus Revit Add-In:
  2. Open a Revit Document.
  3. Navigate to the FORMlab tab.
  4. Click the Show/Hide button to toggle the ParameterFocus panel. This panel can be docked anywhere in Revit or used as a floating window.
  5. If you do not have a valid license, a license window will pop up. If you're eligible for the free 30-day trial, the license will be automatically filled in.


Create a Parameter Profile

  1. In the ParameterFocus panel, click the Edit button to go to the Profile Editor.
  2. Here, change the name of the profile and click Add Parameter to add new parameters to the profile.
  3. Fill in the name and type for each new parameter.
  4. Predefine enforced values by filling them in the Values textbox, separated by a semicolon (;). For example, if you want to enforce values for the parameter FireRating, fill in the Values textbox with 30;60;90 .


Edit Parameter Values

  1. In the Selection tab, the parameters defined in your current profile will be visible.
  2. When your selection in Revit changes, you'll see the current parameter values of your selection.
  3. Click Edit Parameters after changing (a) value(s) to update the values in the selection.


Load / Save Profiles

  1. Use the Load & Save buttons to load and save your profile. Share the file with your colleagues to create consistency across teams.


Load From Excel

  1. Go to the Excel tab.
  2. Select an excel file with the Change button.
  3. Select the name of the sheet that the parameter values that ought to be loaded in are on.
  4. Select the columnname of the column that contains element-ids of the elements that should get data filled in.
  5. The ParameterFocus will attempt to find a matching column for each parameter in your current profile.
  6. Click Fill From Excel to fill in values for all parameters in the current profile that were found in the columns on the sheet.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer that ran when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will start installing the app/plug-in. OR, simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plugin. Make sure that the Autodesk product is completely closed when running the installer.

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer, and select the "Uninstall" button. OR, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall as you would any other application from your system.
