PointFuse Plugin for Autodesk® Revit®
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
The PointFuse plugin for Revit is designed to enhance the user experience of Reality Capture inside PointFuse. It sits as a middleware application between the point cloud registration software or Autodesk® Recap® and Revit.
Users import their point cloud into PointFuse and run a meshing process using the predefined settings provided. To get the most out of the tool, it is recommended that the user then performs at least some basic classification inside PointFuse first, before exporting to the plugin, for example by selecting all the structural elements.
This classification process breaks down the data into layers and adds customized colors to the model, both of which will be viewed within Revit.
Once ready to export, the software creates an export file format (*.prf) that can then be linked into an existing Revit project using the tool provided with the plugin.
Within Revit, the linked model’s layer visibilities can be toggled using the “PointFuse Coordination Model” window, and all links can be managed within the plugins pop-up dialog box.

Additional Information
The PointFuse for Revit plug-in requires a mesh file in a PRF file to be created that can be linked into Revit. To create a PRF file, a classified mesh model must have been created using a licensed version of the PointFuse Desktop App. See description for link to this app and details on PRF creation.
PointFuse runs on Windows only, and the plugin will work on any hardware system that conforms to or exceeds the standard Autodesk product system requirements.
