1. Download and Install
   Install the IGES Exporter for Revit on your system.

2. Launch Revit & Load a Model
   Open Autodesk® Revit® and load the model you wish to export.

3. Access the Add-ins Tab
   Go to the ‘Add-ins’ tab on the ribbon bar. You will see the following buttons: Export, Preference, and About Us.

4. Export the Model

   • Click on the ‘Export’ button to export your Revit model into .iges / .igs format.

   • A Save As dialog will appear where you can choose the directory and filename.

5. Set Preferences (Export Options)
   Under the ‘Preference’ option, you can configure output settings:

   • Write Trimmed Surfaces – Enabled by default.

   • Write All Surfaces as Spline Surfaces (IGES 128).

   • Write All Surfaces as Spline Curves (IGES 126).

   • Write Free Points – Enabled by default.

   • Write Free Edges – Enabled by default.

   • Reset Defaults – Restores all settings to default values.

6. About Us
   The ‘About Us’ button displays information about the company, product, and license details.

Installation

• To use this plug-in with Revit, it is mandatory to have the ProtoTech Plugin Engine installed on your system.

• The installer of IGESExporterForRevit will automatically:

  1. Check if the Plugin Engine is installed, and install it if it is not.

  2. Install IGESExporterForRevit once the Plugin Engine is ready.

Uninstallation

1. Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11).

2. Select IGESExporterForRevit and uninstall it like any other application.

Note:

• The ProtoTech Plugin Engine must be uninstalled separately if required.

• It can also be removed via Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
