Use Boomerang to add sheets and rooms, to convert Navisworks clash tests into families, to create Reference Points in a Conceptual Massing Model and to create topography from an Excel sheet.
Simply link Excel columns and rows with Autodesk® Revit® element properties.
First, click on the Import button from the Boomerang Ribbon Panel under the Add-Ins tab and then click on the Excel File button to select an Excel File.
Adding Sheets from an Excel Sheet:
1. Select Sheets from the Revit Options.
2. Select the Titleblock to be used on the new Sheets.
3. Click on Show instance Parameters, this will display the Revit Titleblock Parameters.
4. Go back to the Excel Options and check the first Parameter to link from Excel to Revit
5. Select what is Sheet Name from the Excel list and Sheet Name from the Revit list.
6. Do the same thing for the Sheet Numbers
7. The minimum information required is Sheet Numbers and Names but 2 more parameter values could be transferred from the Excel file to the Sheet properties.
8. Click OK.
Adding Rooms from an Excel Sheet:
1. Select Rooms from the Revit Options.
2. Select the Phase in which the rooms will be added.
3. Click on Show instance Parameters, this will display the Revit Rooms Parameters.
4. Go back to the Excel Options and check the first Parameter to link from Excel to Revit
5. Select what is Room Name from the Excel list and Room Name from the Revit list.
6. Do the same thing for the Room Numbers
7. The minimum information required is Room Numbers and Names but 2 more parameter values could be transferred from the Excel file to the Room properties.
8. Click OK.
Adding Components from an Excel Sheet:
Use this option to import Clashes from Navisworks. You will need to associate at least the XYZ values and you can set the 4 parameters with information like name, number, discipline or other kind.
1. Select Components from the Revit Options.
2. The Level Option is used to replace Z values to a particular Level.
3. Click on Show instance Parameters, this will display the selected Family Parameters.
4. Go back to the Excel Options, select the units and then check the X Coordinate to link from Excel to Revit.
5. Select what is X Coordinate from the Excel list.
6. Do the same thing for the Y and Z Coordinates.
7. The minimum information required is XYZ Coordinates but 4 more parameter values could be transferred from the Excel file to the family properties.
8. Click OK.
Adding Topography from an Excel Sheet:
1. Select Topography from the Revit Options.
2. Go back to the Excel Options, select the units and then check the X Coordinate to link from Excel to Revit
3. Select what is X Coordinate from the Excel list.
4. Do the same thing for the Y and Z Coordinates.
5. The minimum information required for creating topography is XYZ Coordinates.
6. Click OK.
Adding Reference Points in a Conceptual Massing Model from an Excel sheet:
1. Select Points from the Revit Options.
2. Go back to the Excel Options, select the units and then check the X Coordinate to link from Excel to Revit
3. Select what is X Coordinate from the Excel list.
4. Do the same thing for the Y and Z Coordinates.
5. The minimum information required for creating Points is XYZ Coordinates but 4 more parameter values could be transferred from the Excel file to the Points properties.
6. Click OK.
Commands
Installation/Uninstallation
The installer that ran when you downloaded this plug-in from Autodesk App store has already installed the plug-in. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply rerun the installer by downloading it again from Autodesk App store, and select the 'Uninstall' button, or you can uninstall it from 'Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features' (Windows 7/8/8.1/10), just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.
