The Family Browser integrates seamlessly into your Revit workflow and enables efficient management and fast loading of families.

1. Adjustments in the settings dialog

- Before using the Family Browser, you can make individual adjustments in the settings dialog:

- Path management: add your family libraries to make them available in the browser.

- View options: Choose between list or row view, and customize the icon size.

- Language settings: Select the desired language via the drop-down menu.

2. Add family paths

After inserting the desired paths, the Family Browser automatically recognizes all Revit families in the specified directories. These are organized hierarchically so that you can search your libraries in a structured way.

3. Display families in the dockable panel

- The families found appear in a dockable window directly in the Revit interface. There you can:

- Search families by category or folder structure.

- Use the search function to quickly find the desired family.

- Recognize families with multiple types using the blue marking.

4. Load families into the project

As soon as you have found the desired family, simply drag it from the Family Browser directly into your Revit project. For families with multiple types, a type selection dialog appears before placement so that you can select the appropriate variant.

The installer that was running when you downloaded this app/plug-in from the Autodesk App Store will begin installing the app/plug-in. OR simply double-click the downloaded installer to install the app/plug-in. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the app/plug-in. To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, simply run the installer again and select the “Uninstall” button. OR click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall it from your system as you would any other application.
