Room Finishes
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
- After installation, open Autodesk Revit and navigate to the Add-Ins tab in the ribbon.
- Click the Room Finishes button in the BKJ Automation panel to open the configuration dialog.
- In the Parameter Mapping section, select the room parameters that correspond to your Wall Finish, Floor Finish, and Ceiling Finish values. Set the Ceiling Height parameter or use the default height field.
- In the Default Types section, choose the fallback Revit floor type, ceiling type, and wall type to use when a room parameter value does not match an existing type name in the project.
- Optionally, adjust the Level Overrides to place finishes on a specific level rather than the room's own level.
- Click Generate All Rooms to process every placed room in the model, or click Select Rooms to manually pick rooms directly in the Revit canvas.
- A summary dialog will report how many floors, ceilings, and walls were created or skipped, along with any warnings.
- To reuse your configuration in future sessions, save it as a preset using the Presets menu in the dialog.

Additional Information
System Requirements:
- Autodesk Revit 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, or 2027
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- .NET Framework 4.8 or higher
- An active internet connection is required for subscription verification on first use.
Notes:
- The tool processes placed rooms only. Unplaced rooms are skipped automatically.
- Room parameters must be of the Text type. The tool reads the parameter value as the finish type name to look up in the Revit project.
- Wall finishes are placed as non-structural walls offset inward from the room boundary. Openings for doors, windows, and wall cuts are applied automatically.
Known Issues
In rare cases, rooms with highly complex or non-planar boundaries may produce a warning and be skipped. Review the summary dialog after running for details.
Rooms that share walls with zero-thickness separation lines may produce unexpected wall placement. Use standard wall-bounded rooms for best results.
On the first run after installation, Revit may display a security warning asking you to confirm loading the add-in. Select Always Load to prevent this on future launches.
Ceiling height placement in Revit 2023 uses a bounding-box lookup to find the newly created ceiling element. In projects with very high room density, ensure transactions are not interrupted during generation.
