Class Feeder

Win64, English

ARKANCE CZ (CAD Studio)
Classification of BIM elements in Autodesk® Revit® projects with Construction Classification International (CCI)

General Usage Instructions

The application is operated from the BIM Management tab -> Class Feeder panel. Users can efficiently assign all required classification data to elements according to selected facets.

To set up the application, use the Settings dialog. The language of classification system tables can be selected here. Currently, only the CCI classification system is supported. The parameter to write each facet’s classification code has to be set up. Users can either select an existing parameter or create a new one from the shared parameter file. The format of the written classification code can also be set up here, including its prefix, suffix, and separator.

When parameters are set up, users can start assigning classification codes from the Write dialog. First, it is important to select a facet, which can be done from the Facet drop-down menu. The associated classification tables are loaded according to the selected facet.  Elements to write to can be selected from the left side of the dialog, where filtering according to Revit categories and types is available. After selecting element instances to classify, the user can select the classification code from the classification table on the right side of the dialog. The code is then written to the parameter for each instance by clicking the Classify button.

The second way to select the elements to classify is to select them in a Revit viewport, then click the binocular button “Select objects from view manually”. This process makes all desired elements selected in the Class Feeder Write window and the user can now proceed with classification by selecting the desired code from the classification table and by clicking the Classify button.

The Write in Bulk option enables the creation of classification conditions, which can be applied to many projects. These projects are classified automatically using these conditions. The conditions are created based on rules, similar to view filter rules. Using this tool guarantees consistency of element classification between projects and saves a lot of time compared to the manual selection of objects for classification.
