The Draw Stairs Add-In for Autodesk® Revit® simplifies the creation of custom stair families with rebar hosting, providing a user-friendly interface for designing stairs with various parameters.

General Usage Instructions

1. Initiating the Command:

Click on the "Draw Stairs" button to open a window with a default staircase.

2. Customizing Stair Parameters:

Modify the default staircase using the user-friendly interface.

3. Validity Checks:

The Add-In ensures the validity of entered parameters, flagging "Bad Geometry" for invalid inputs.

4. Stairs Assessment:

The Add-In assesses stairs based on specific conditions, providing a status of "Good Stairs" or "Bad Stairs."

5. Drawing Stairs:

If the geometry is valid, execute the command to draw the stairs family in the active document.

6. Enhanced Workflow & rebar:

The created stairs are capable of hosting rebar, users can leverage the "Stairs Rebar" Revit Add-In by CAD-BUD to streamline rebar placement.

Draw Stairs

Accessible under the CAD-BUD tab, this command opens a window with a default staircase for modification. Use the following parameters to customize the staircase: General Parameters: Steps, Width, Tread, Riser, Hplate, Gap Upper Support Parameters: Hsup1, Trsup1, Tread1, Hland1, Lf1 Bottom Support Parameters: Hsup2, Trsup2, Tread2, Hland2, Lf2 Stairs Name: Choose a name for the family of stairs. The command ensures parameter validity, preventing progression with invalid geometries (status: "Bad Geometry"). Evaluate stairs based on conditions, assigning a status of "Good Stairs" or "Bad Stairs." If geometry is valid, execute the command to draw the stairs family, ready for rebar integration in the active document using Revit tools.

Installation/Uninstallation

The installer will initiate upon downloading this add-in from the Autodesk App Store, facilitating the installation process for the add-in. Alternatively, you can double-click on the downloaded installer to install the add-in. Following installation, you may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the add-in.

To uninstall the plug-in, exit the running Autodesk product, rerun the installer, and opt for the "Uninstall" button. Alternatively, navigate to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 10/11) and uninstall the application as you would any other from your system.

Please note that this app (Draw stairs) for Revit is compatible only with Revit 2023 and 2024. If your programs meet these compatibility requirements, the installation of the Draw Stairs add-in is a straightforward process.
