BIM9_Pipes
Win64, EnglishGeneral Usage Instructions
This toolset is designed to streamline pipe modeling, connection, and documentation workflows within Revit MEP. The commands are organized into three groups — Create, Modify, and CAD-Sheet-View — aligning with the natural sequence of a project’s design and coordination process.
Workflow Overview
- Start with the Create tools
- Use commands in the Create group to quickly generate pipe connections, offsets, and fittings.
- These tools allow you to place angled segments (45Up, TwoElbows45Up), create offsets (TwoElbows45, SpringOut), or automatically connect pipes (PerpenConnect, ElbowConnect, SuperConnect) with minimal manual adjustments.
- Refine with the Modify tools
- After initial placement, use Modify tools to adjust alignment (Align), set slopes (SetSlope), and split or rotate elements as needed (SplitPipe, RotateElements).
- Detect and resolve clashes using CheckClash and avoid them with MoveAvoid.
- SelectPipes enables quick selection based on system type or diameter for batch modifications.
- Finalize with the CAD-Sheet-View tools
- Prepare documentation and coordination deliverables.
- Open and reference linked CAD files (OpenCADLink), create sheets from active views (SheetActiveView), and control view boundaries (SetCropBox).
- Duplicate viewports for multiple sheet layouts (DupViewPort) or generate 3D views for review (ThreeDView).
How it fits into your workflow
This add-in integrates directly into Revit’s ribbon interface, ensuring a smooth transition from standard Revit commands to enhanced productivity features. By following the sequence — Create → Modify → Document — you can reduce repetitive manual work, improve modeling accuracy, and accelerate the production of coordinated drawings.
