Hello friend, I have revit version 2025.4 installed and unfortunately the plugin cannot be installed. I hope it can be solved, greetings.
I think this app has been incorporated into REvit 2025.
I have used this plug-in for years, and I am a bit disappointed that it has not been updated for 2025 yet. I have even emailed the creator to see if there is a timeline for the update and have not received a response.
I've emailed too with no response, I would happily pay for this add-on. I used it daily and find it hard to believe its not part of the stock Revit package. :(
I think this app has been incorporated into Revit 2025. Highlight a bunch of tags, then look under "Modify | Materials Tags" and off to the right you will see "Multiple Align"
@Howard Tews Unfortunately, not to the full extent of this plug-in. This plug-in allowed you to align not just tags, but views, families, and many other things.
As of today there is a 2025 version. Installed it and it works as you would expect. Made a LinkedIn post today asking for alternatives and somebody mensioned the update also today, so I missed that as I last tooked at this app yesterday. Anyway, happy it is back.

I've used Gergely Dudás trick however it stopped working.

This is a great tool been using it for a number of years!
When I select 2 items and click align middle, it does not do completely. I understand this from the fact that it moves again when I click it for the second time. This is also valid for other commands. For example, the distribute horizontally command causes the elements to be nested. I cannot separate them at equal distance.

Is there a way to specify the tab name? Add-Ins is getting cluttered and there are a couple that loose their icons when they go small... (several of the other 3rd-party add-ins we use have a settings text file where we can customize placement).
Also, it would be nice to be able to distribute space BETWEEN elements (instead of just distributing centers - sometimes overlapping or large gaps).
Very useful tool for tagging elements (and tidying them up)
Note: There are limitations to the align tool, this only works effectively if the view is set on a default axis (default crop view orientation). If the view is set on any different angle, and you use align tool functions such as 'distibute vertically/horizontally', this will confuse the Revit and have them all cluster together instead of evenly separating-'distributing' them.
Never the less, very good tool and I appreciate the developer has maintained this plugin so far!

It's not until you have to upgrade and the tool isn't available that you realise just how useful this tool is, and how often you use it.

I was looking for a tool to equally distribute objects so the edge to edge dimention between them all would be the same. So far as I can tell, this tool does not do that. It equally distributes objects so that the center to center dimention is the same; useful for distributing structural elements on center but not what I was looking for. Please consider adding a check box that would allow you to change where the distribute tool measures from.

Johnes, i tried your plugin for aligning, but it only seems to work on components, it wont work with doors, walls, detail items etc etc how come?
Lachlan, I experienced the same thing. I often use the Align tool for viewports and it doesn't work for those.

Please can the developer update to 2023. This is an amazing app and i use it everyday.
Side Note: I'm actually shocked that we are in 2023 and this isn't native to Autodesk! Seriously, for the price of a yearly subscription I'd expect this type of functionality to be baked in!

The built in R25 align tool isn't as good as this plugin, as it only works for tags, not all items. Please can you do an update for R25, as I'll have R25 projects soon and I won't be able to do all the great aligns until your tool is updated!
I do a lot of drafting views, and this plugin has literally saved me days and days. For best use, setup with shortcut keys, which makes it even quicker

Very simple app, but is extremely useful!
Very useful set of tools to Align lots of things, not just Annotation. (Revit 2021 issue: once aligned, the set of annotation remains highlighted, but if you try to nudge the annotation it doesnt move. Re-focusing on the view by clicking on theview name tab seems to re-set the focuse and you can move the updated tags...)

this addon is very helpful
One request for correction is likely to require an update of the distribute horizontally function. My opinion is that you should change it to the average of the highest and lowest objects, not the average of the first and last objects.

I am wating the Revit 2020 Version for this app!
Until I found this solution to get it work in 2020. I copied from here "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\BIM 42 Align.bundle\Contents\Sources" this 2 file: "AlignTag" and "AlignTag.dll" to this folder "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2020".
Now for me it's working fine with Revit 2020.

I was very excited when I read this suggestion as I feel lost without this amazing plugin since upgrading to 2020, unfortunately for me the change wasn't successful. I also tried @Lucas Rubini suggestion which didn't work for me either. Looking forward to the update, unless anyone else has another suggestion.

Thank you very much for a great plugin, it has been a life-saver for me. Currently tagging a massive project, where I am tagging loads and loads of fire pipes in MEP. Any chance to add the function of aligning tags that are aligned vertically (in 45 degrees angle) for the next update? Thanks again for great work!

I am trying to center align Room tags to Ceiling tags. However, when I do this I get an error saying:
"point
Parameter name: Head position of the tag with no leader could not be located outside of the host element."
Your known issues page says something about Room, Space and Area tags with a leader need a double click be aligned. I would like to do this without a leader on the room tag.
Any help would be appreciated.

This add in is very useful, I find myself reaching for it often (via keyboard shortcuts of course). I have been using this a while longer now, and I have another feature request. It would be really useful having an "align centre" tool that centres the SECOND object to the FIRST object's location, instead of moving both to meet in the middle. This would be a very simple way of centering objects with a shortcut instead of having to select and move by midpoint
The only addin that I bring from the panel and keep it at the work space. Kudos to the development team…!!!!

This is a very useful tool. Thanks for building and maintaining it! Any chance of adding a new alignment button? I would like the ability to "stack" (wall) tags directly on top of each other. It's essentially a double alignment, center - center. Thanks!
Thanks for using it ! I rather keep the number of buttons to a minimum, even if some features are missing, to keep the overall user experience simple and intuitive. Why don't you click on "Align Center" and "Align Middle" successively ? The app should keep your selection between the two clicks.
I would love it even more if it could be added to the quick access toolbar. An older version had this I believe but Revit 2017 isn't allowing it.

Overall I'm very happy with the tool and the results! I would like to be able to define which tag the rest of the tags will align to (top/bottom, left/right). How about implementing a button to switch between last selected tag and default (highest/lowest placed etc.)?

I agree with this - sometime you want to move the majority of the tags TOWARDS the detail, and sometimes you want to move the majority AWAY from the detail - this could be placed in a separate "settings menu" that you only access to change defaults (such as align to first selected, align to leftmost, align to rightmost, align to last selected) I believe this would add a considerable amount of functionality, and I would use this addin constantly instead of just sporadically as i do now.
but in 2018 I am unable to assign any keyboards shortcuts which makes it very difficult :( Please please fix so that I may edit my review to reflect my true opinion.

The Align add-in shortcut keys are not show up for me
I am running out of options :( Did you try to just type "Align" in the search bar of the Shortcut panel, without filtering by the Add-Ins tabs ? You can also try to unistall and reinstall the Align plugin.
Looking at the picture you provided it shows the keyboard commands under the add-ins tab. & just typing in align causes several align functions to show, so much that it would be impossible to fit in one picture. https://ibb.co/gsmXgQ The picture shows Paths have been sorted alphabetically, Can you see the grey arrow pointing upwards next to the word "Paths." Now, if you where to do the same thing the Add-Ins keyboard shortcuts would be the first Paths displayed.

Thank you for the free handy little plugin but I have to ask why the need for a leader for the addin to work? There are many times when I have a large amount of tags on a sheet and use zero leaders, I would still like tags aligned. This plugin should work just the same with or without the leaders. Is this possible?
Yes, it should be perfectly possible. I will add it for the next release.

Very useful add-on for annotating. Wish you could leave the commands expanded on your second screen so you don't have to click the drop down to change alignment.
I really enjoy tagging several items and then being able to align left or right. The one thing I think that could make this even better is if the addin worked with "text boxes" also. Many times, we use text and tags together and if we could use one tool to align them, that would be amazing. Even if there were two tools, Text alignment and Tag Alignment, it would be very helpful. Good job though! Keep up the good work!
