Description

With eTransmit for Autodesk® Revit® software products, you can copy a Revit model and dependent files to a single folder for Internet transmission. You can transmit any model that has been upgraded to Revit Release 2012 or later and saved. With eTransmit for Autodesk Revit, you can:
  • Copy and detach a Revit model and associated files to a single folder for internet transmission. This removes the typical error messages when you copy central files using the operating system.
  • Locate dependent files automatically and include them in the transmittal folder, helping to reduce the possibility of error. All dependent files are automatically converted to use relative paths so the dependent files can be located by the model.
  • Choose to include related dependent files such as linked Revit models, CAD files, DWF™ markups, decal images, and external keynote files. You can transmit any Revit (.rvt) model that has been upgraded to be compatible with a Revit 2012 software product or later.
  • Choose to Upgrade the Revit (.rvt) model and linked models to the current release.
  • Choose to remove unused families, materials, and other objects from the Revit projects to reduce file size.
  • Transmit models that are using file-based worksharing or server-based worksharing. eTransmit for Revit can also work with non-workshared Revit models.

  • Linked Revit Models
    Mercedes Rentz | July 18, 2017

Will linked Revit models remain loaded in the host model during the transmittal process?

  • Should be part of Revit OOTB installation like AutoCAD
    Clara Sandoval | May 18, 2017

On another note, the difference between logging in here for eTransmit for Revit 2016 but going elsewhere to download eTransmit for Revit 2017 is confusing. I've got it figured out now after some investigation! =]

    Nirmal Bharatwaj | July 19, 2017

How do we do it? I am yet to figure out...

  • Update ?
    David Grassin | March 01, 2017

When the update will be done for revit 2017 ? In 2018

    Sasha Crotty | March 03, 2017

Thanks for reaching out. The 2017 version of this add-in is available to subscribers via http://accounts.autodesk.com -> Management or from the Autodesk Desktop app.

  • Missing some basics
    Samuel Arsenault-Brassard | February 20, 2017

This would be great if it could also package CAD and texture image files. Actually, they should add the option to add anything on this list: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/Revit-AddIns/files/GUID-540C8493-81E8-45D6-A4DF-882AB8FAD1A6-htm.html

The plugin now supports CAD packaging. It still ignores material images unless you point to your material folder and include all material images. Still not packaging: Point clouds Shared parameter file Lookup tables Material rendering images XRefs linked to CAD models External font files

We need a way to use e-Transmit in sequence on multiple models.

  • 2016 Version
    Claire Simpson | May 23, 2016

Very slow to open and run. In addition to this, the add-in was causing a problem with our rooms - transmitted models were showing the rooms 'not bound' which meant our sub consultants couldn't define their spaces. It would be great if this could be looked into by Autodesk. Thanks.

    Ryan Duell | May 25, 2016

Thank you for the feedback Claire. The initial launch of eTransmit can take longer than subsequent launches during the same Revit session. The length of time to transmit a model will vary based on the size and complexity of the dataset, as well as the specified options (such as number of links, purge unused, whether upgrade was required, etc.). Regarding the rooms being unbounded, I was able to reproduce a “Room is not in a properly enclosed region” message in the resulting error report html when the linked model is set to “room bounding” and bounding rooms in the host model (and the “upgrade and cleanup” features are used). This might temporarily happen based on the order the links are transmitted but when the dataset is put back together, and you open the host the room-bounding link should be available and bound the rooms. For the behavior you describe, when you open the host model are the rooms still unbound? If so, can you let me know any additional specifics to the setup or potentially share a dataset this is reproducible with? Feel free to reach out to me at ryan.duell@autodesk.com. Thank you again for the feedback.

I 'm in endless loop of downloading this free app. Anyone else having issue with downloading. I've tried on Firefox and explorer and still no luck.

  • 2015 version
    aymeric trutet | February 04, 2016

No one made the update to 2016, we need the "old" 2015 version of eTransmit. Where can it be found?

  • About Time
    brendan smith | August 11, 2015

6 Months we had to wait for this Add-in that is usually available immediately when the new version of Revit comes out. It appears Autodesk has a developer team of one for Revit now
