ifc2room makes it possible to read architectural rooms (in the form of levels, room geometries, room numbers, and room names) from an IFC file and transfers them to a desired Autodesk® Revit® file.

The primary target group for ifc2room is mechanical and electrical engineers who use Revit themselves but are provided with the architectural models as Ifc files in openBIM projects. In order to generate the required MEP rooms in Revit, the HVAC engineers need a valid data set in the form of Revit architecture rooms.

This is exactly what ifc2room provides on the basis of Ifc files.

The tool is working very fine. It would be awesome if the tool could copy more information of the IFC spaces as the GlobalID (at least) to be able to link ifc and revit data.

    CAD Verwaltung (Publisher) | August 14, 2023

Hi Thibaud, the GlobalID is already integrated in a PullRequest (https://github.com/agnBIM/ifc2room/pull/4) in Github and will come with the release of the 24 version for all.

  • Gibt es das auch schon für 2023

Hello Heinz, the 2023 version is already finished and is only waiting for the approval by Autodesk. Since you obviously use the software, your one-star rating irritates us. We are always happy about a detailed feedback. Gladly also to software@agn.de Best regards!
