Description

The Xrev Freebies Suite consists of:

View Box allows you to quickly generate a 3D view around specific elements. This is extremely helpful for visualizing details in 3D when it's difficult to understand what is going on in a view. Other uses include creating 3D Shop drawings of particular elements where Autodesk® Revit® Assembly tool cannot, and creating 3D Room Layout views.

UpRev allows you to very quickly apply a Revision to many sheets in one simple operation without the use of Revision Clouds. Apply a Revision to hundreds of sheets in seconds.

Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

  • Revit 2025
Peter Novak | July 22, 2024 Verified Download (What's this?)

Is a Revit 2025 update coming?

    Thanks

    Chris Price | July 23, 2024

Hi Peter, really hoping to release it this week if all goes well.

  • Need Unapplied function to work
Andy In | September 26, 2023 Verified Download (What's this?)

Overall, it is convenient.  However, the unapplied function doesn't work.  Need to have the function to remove the applied revision from all sheets once it already been applied to.

For example, 50% DD, 100% DD already applied to all sheets (50+ sheets)  Now the city want nothing in the revision but Permit Set, you have to go through 50+ sheets to remove it.  Very inconvenient.

If the unapplied function works what it supposed to, then everything is good.

Hi Andy, the tool is called "UpRev". It doesn't advertise that it removes revisions "DownRev". If you accidentally apply a revision to sheets that you didn't mean to, you can always undo the action. The ability to "DownRev" is a wish list item that we hope to address in a future update. Is it fair to rate the application on features that it doesn't advertise to do?

  • Good
Peter Storm | June 23, 2022 Verified Download (What's this?)

Good Software, but is there a way to delete a revision after it's assinged?

    Chris Price | June 25, 2022

Hi Peter, a revision applied using UpRev can simply be removed immediately after using the Revit Undo command. To remove a revision on a particular sheet simply select the sheet, open its Revisions settings in the properties and deselect the revision you no longer want to show.

create a bundle in "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\" instead of installing in "C:\Program Files\" (easier to copy to multiple computers); show Revision Number (not just Sequence Number) in revision list; show all revisions in "Rev Seq" (not just latest) in sheet list; make "Unapplied" work for sheets that already have later revisions (we don't always work on only one revision at a time)

Install location - rather than copying the installation directory around, use MSI deployment tools, which allow you to install by command line, it's much more powerful and will ensure the addin manifest will get installed in the appropriate locations for all versions of Revit. EG: msiexec /i XrevFreebiesSetup_2.6.1_x64.msi /q Would install the software silently, with no interface. Revision Number - yes we plan to include the option to display additional parameters in the Sheet List. We chose not to include it originally to avoid confusion to people. As in terms of placing a new revision, knowing what the last sequence number applied is more important. We could display a comma separated list - when we provide the option to remove sequences. We will need to include some method to identify what sequences have been applied to a sheet. Please be aware you can use SHIFT/CTRL to select rows, then right click and choose Select, to select items in bulk. With the upcoming version there will be many improvements/additions.

  • Great AddIn

It does what it should be, and it works perfectly. Great tool for productivity and saves a lot of time when publishing. Thanks!

  • Big time saver!
Mirko Jurčević | November 26, 2019 Verified Download (What's this?)

Thank you for this great free software! IMO, section box is better than the native tool since it will not overwrite your 3D view unless you want it. And it can isolate selected elements.

It also works with Revit 2015 and Revit 2016 !

I encountered an error, however, when I select something in 3D view and choose View Box to create section box in that very same 3D, it gives me an error "elementID cannot be deleted".

    Matthew Siebert (Publisher) | February 06, 2020

Hi Mirko, Apologies for the delayed response, looks like Autodesk only just allowed this review to be posted. Please contact support@xrev.com.au with more specifics of your issue so we can investigate.

  • Great Time Saving App
Jason Douglas | October 17, 2017 Verified Download (What's this?)

For the most part, this app is great and a huge time saver. I did, however, revise one of sheets in my drawing set accidentally and was unable to delete the revision on that page. I had to delete the entire revision to all applicable pages and redo it. Is there anyway to undo a revision to a single sheet should this happen?

    Matthew Siebert (Publisher) | October 18, 2017

Hi Jason, As discussed over email (I assume you did this review before you read my response). If you've incorrectly added a revision to one sheet, simply go to that sheet, then: - In the Properties Palette, find the Revisions on Sheet parameter and choose Edit. - Untick the incorrectly applied Revision - OK to close the dialog UpRev currently has no Bulk removal of Revision functionality (DownRev).

  • Perfect! Would love Sheet Renaming too!
Aric Crosson Bouwers | July 26, 2017 Verified Download (What's this?)

This is such an elegant solution to the revision issue in Revit. Renaming sheets/views is also very inefficient - would love a version of that from you!

So So useful, hard to believe this has to be an ad in. In program is so clunky. Thankyou!

Very useful and time saving ... thanks !! I wonder if you can make the addin to remove revisions as well ??

  • A must-have in every deployment!
    MQN Architects | April 21, 2016

I am the BIM Manager at my office and I use this add-in directly in my Autodesk deployment; its the best way to apply revisions. We are about to launch Revit 2017, are you going to upload a 2017 version soon?

    Chris Price | April 25, 2016

Hi, Thanks for the great feedback. We've been working really hard on a major new release of Xrev Transmit with some great new functionality, and we were hoping to release this at the same time as Revit 2017 - we'll update all our products at once. We're committed to delivering a quality product and unfortunately this new version just isn't quite ready yet. We're reviewing the outstanding work items to get this release finished and if it looks like it's still too far away then we'll look at releasing an update with support for Revit 2017, but without the new features. We'll then release the new features in the coming weeks. So far we've held off on doing this with the hope of saving people the effort of upgrading twice within a short period. It won't be any longer than 2 weeks - either way. Once again, we apologise for the delay and we thank you for your patience.

    MQN Architects | May 12, 2016

Thank you for upgrading to 2017! Fortunately/unfortunately I ended up being to busy to upgrade our office until now; just in time to put into my deployment! I couldn't imagine giving everyone a brand new Revit 2017 without UpRev. I am looking forward to the new features; I will definitely upgrade the addon when the update comes out. Keep up the good work!

  • Great set of free Add-Ins
Patrick Kreusch | February 03, 2016 Verified Download (What's this?)

Up Rev - This add-in does what many of us have been asking Revit to do for years. Adds revision information to multiple sheets at a time. The interface is easy to use. This program does not allow removing the revision from multiple sheets if you make a mistake. If you do, simply delete the revision in the Sheet issues/Revisions dialog box, re-add a new revision line and run Up Rev to re-apply to the correct sheets. View Box - Who couldn't use a free tool that EASILY isolates a part of their model? Great tool and easy to use.

  • Excellent!!
    Adam Clarke | October 14, 2015
