Revit Extension for Fabrication

Revit Extension for Fabrication

Autodesk, Inc.

With the Autodesk® Revit® Extension for Autodesk® Fabrication, Autodesk® Revit® 2016 software users can save models that have been produced in Revit 2016 or Revit MEP 2016 using Fabrication Parts to a file compatible with Autodesk® Fabrication 2016 software products (Fabrication CADmep, Fabrication ESTmep, Fabrication CAMduct).  This interoperability allows users to utilize fabrication model data authored in Revit for use in Fabrication workflows.  Additionally, supported parts in models created in the Fabrication software products can be opened for continued modelling in Revit, or Revit hand-off at the end of the project.

For the 2017 and beyond version of this add-in, download through the Autodesk Desktop Application.

  • Voted off??
    Kevin Thickett | March 04, 2019

There is a little know game calle Autodesk APP Treasure Island.
Where apps are inexplicably voted off the island due to something they said.
This one was a valued mamber of the tribe, could we have it voted back on please dear tribal council?
I mainly want the hanger layout tool.

  • Can I give it a ZERO ?

Appreantly this stops at 2016, Autodesk says use AutoDesk Desktop app for other leves.. ( Surprise.. NOT There ). ALso this only works if you have the native MAJ files.. NOT if you have the DWG files created FROM CADMEP. Overall useless if your trying to SIMPLY import a DWG created in Fabrication into Revit. You CAN open that DWG in AutoCAD.. but good luck doing anythign with it.  WHY This cross functionality does not exist is ridiculous. if a PROXY viewer for AutoCAD works, WHY NOT FOR REVIT..!

This works well but the structural steel content is not supported. Is there any way to get that one?

  • Very Functional
Luke Evans | April 19, 2016 Verified Download (What's this?)

Works as described, although I had issues with installing this for Revit 2017 while still having it for Revit 2016. I ended up chopping up the installer for the bits I needed and manually installing them in the add-ins folder. I was surprised to see that this didn't become a core feature of Revit 2017 as Fabrication Parts are useless without it. Unless you use Fabrication Parts for design intent...... *Crickets*

  • Missing the basic's
Christopher Shannon | September 14, 2015 Verified Download (What's this?)

I like the path Autodesk is moving in, But 1. You can't elevate duct 2. SQ to RD 3300 don't work 3. SQ taps are hard to work with 4. Hangers don't work very well

  • Do not work!!!

David Ronson | July 06, 2015 Verified Download (What's this?)

Seemed to install correctly. Took a few minutes to figure out the import/export features. I like where Autodesk is headed with this. Cant wait for more features!

  • Excellent!

    Works perfect.

  • Been waiting for this!
Mark Hobday | April 29, 2015 Verified Download (What's this?)

Very Good, easy conversion. Even better when other more content is available, like flex duct, AHU's more grilles & registers are added. For now like it!

  • Nice

Justin Doughty | April 27, 2015 Verified Download (What's this?)

This works well, very easy. CREATECAM from CADmep to .MAJ and imported to Revit using the same metric content!
