Description

The add-in analyzes all layered structures in an Autodesk® Revit® project, looking for material names and layer widths (thicknesses). Materials, widths, and material layers with widths can be written into multiline Type parameters of all six-layered categories (Ceilings, Floors, Site-Pads, Roofs, Structural Foundations, and Walls).

These parameters can be used to show tags and schedules.

Tree structure displays all layered structure types, materials, and widths (thicknesses), showing:

  • Red color shows missing materials (<By Category>)
  • Core layers are underlined
  • Structural materials are bold and blue (or red if the material is missing)

Units can be set: millimeters, centimeters, decimeters, meters, decimal inches, and decimal feet

The unit format can be set: number of decimals and trailing zeros

This app works in Revit 2015 and newer.

About This Version

Version 1.1.20.0505, 9/30/2021
Updated version with more functionalities. Supports all Revit languages. User can now see number of types and number of instances of each type, and also total number of instances of all type. Types with zero instances are grayed and can be not shown in the tree. Add-in automatically adds all needed shared parameters. Type can be checked to not be updated by the add-in. Add-in can create comparison string to compare different types to find similar or the same (filtered and sorted Revit multicategory material schedule can be used for this).

Hope an update will make this usable with current software; this looks like a fantastic app. Just trying to save someone else the trouble of trying to make this work with 2023! (I should've checked the compatibility first)
Hope to change my rating to 5 stars!

  • A simple and very usefull plug-in that changes the way building elements are annotated
Marin Culjak | September 23, 2019 Verified Download (What's this?)

I strongly suggest trying this plug-in as it allows wall layers to be directly reported in tags and schedules, allowing consistency accross the whole project. I've had a chance to use it during semester projects and it really made my life easier. Thanks for fast and reliable support from Engipedia.
