This app allows you to name your views the way you always wanted but thought it was too hard to maintain. Using “Reference other view,” it displays the views in sheet and detail number order.
What you can expect from the Egan View Name By Sheet Number application:
It provides a comprehensive view naming system, without the necessity of complicated rules or manual - and error-prone - input from users.
When using “Reference other view,” all views are displayed in a predictable order. See the screenshots below for more information.
When views are added to a sheet they are automatically renamed in the pattern “Sheet Number” “Detail Number” and “Title on Sheet,” for example, “A1.2_3_Roof Detail.” This app uses the Title on Sheet but does not automatically change it, to have as minimal impact on your current workflow as possible.
When views are removed from a sheet, they are renamed back to either the name they had prior to being placed on the sheet, or to the current Title on the Sheet, depending on your selected setting.
Potential view types are Plans, Elevations/ Sections, 3DViews and Details. Any combination of these types may be selected.
Provides a Batch update process to help you get started and a Batch undo to restore your project to its original condition if necessary.
Trial Description
The Trial Download provides a 60-day, fully-functioning version of the app. After this time, you will need to purchase a one-year subscription license in order to continue to use the app.
This program makes it so easy to add consistency to the way your team names views from project to project. Saves time by automatically naming the views once they have been placed on the sheet, using sheet#/detail# and detail title (or plan-section-elevation). Some view names can get pretty long so I wish you could choose not to include the titles, but either way, it saves us time and keeps us consistent from project to project.
Will automate the view name by sheet numbering process. You name the view, place it on a sheet, and it does the hard work for you. This will keep your browser neat and clean. Works great on jobs that have been getting out of hand with view naming. Highly reccomend this add-in!
