This is a very quick way to transfer 3D and VR information but both on the HTC Vive and in the desktop environment I seem to be way too short when I leave fly mode. Needs a setting for eye level and a proper calibration with the Vive. Otherwise great tool!

Great way for architects to get started with VR, good work !!!
Hi Martin, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. You feedback is valuable for us!
Very nice app. Simple one click, great for reviewing the design. Would love to be able to select the sporn location, is this possible?
Hi Sam, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. There is a need to place a human model to the spot where you would like to begin moving. In order to find a human model: 1. Open Sample Architecture Project in Revit, 2. Go to Project Browser > 3D Views > 3D, 3. Click with right mouse button on a human > Edit family, then save as Family. In order to insert a human to your model: 1. Open your model in Revit, 2. Go to Insert > Load Family, then browse saved Family with human, 3. Go to Systems > Model > Component > Place a component, 4. Place a human where you would like to start the unity viewing. In case of further questions, please contact support@amcbridge.com
This app does exactly what it says on the tin. However, it would make a big difference in VR if there was a teleportation movement mechanic for people that suffer from motion sickness. Everyone I showed this to in the HTC Vive did not like the artificial or "controller" based method of moving. Teleportation is what we use in most projects so until it is implemented, I will not be able to use this plugin unfortunately.
Hi, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. Your feedback is valuable for us. The proposed idea about adding teleportation will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Excellent ! It works but i have not the ability to pass through the doors and windows. I think It's because I m french while Unity for Revit want the words "window' and "door" : what do you think about that and is there a solution ? Thank's
Hi Tony Charbonnier, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Currently this add-in is compatible only with English version of Autodesk Revit. Other possible reasons of the issue with passage through windows and doors: 1) Categories are not assigned to Window or Door. 2) Height is a window or door is less than "height of hero" parameter which equals to 6 feet (1828.8 mm). For now that parameter has fixed value and cannot be customized. If above doesn’t help, then please contact support@amcbridge.com and provide scenario for reproducing this issue with screenshots, test model, Revit version, OS version and type (32-bit/64-bit).
Perfect, just what Revit needed!
Hi Pontus Jakobsson, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us!
Hi, there is any way can I use this app with Gear VR for samsung? Thanks
Hi David Amaya Gonzalez, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Currently that functionality is not available, but it will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Works like a charm. Makes revit to VR very easy. I do have 1 question: How does lighting work? i have put in some lamps but they do emit some light but not enough to light up the room.
Hi Aryen Jacobs, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Currently default brightness value is used for all lightings and there is no way to customize it. Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
Hi, first of all thank you very much for this great app ! It could be very interesting to be able to open the scene into Unity to modify stuff and parameters (like physics and interaction). Is there any way to import 3D model with physics building's into Unity ?
Hi Pscl Jnthn, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us! Currently using Unity for Autodesk Revit you can export 3D model geometry with materials and textures from Revit directly to Unity for Autodesk Revit. But the export of 3D model from Revit to Unity project is not supported. Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
Can i open it with unity and modify on the scene ?
Hi Ahmed, currently using Unity for Autodesk Revit you can export 3D model geometry with materials and textures from Revit directly to Unity for Autodesk Revit. But the export of 3D model from Revit to Unity project is not supported. Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
4 Stars for the best "1 click" Revit to Unity plugin/solution. 5 stars when you add the edit in unity option! Thanks for a great plugin!
Hi Jacobus, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us! Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
is there anyway that we can adjust the materials after export? And is it possible to send this file so they can also view or is it just on the local machine?
Hi Don Carlo, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us! Currently there is no way to adjust the materials after export. In order to share view of model at Unity platform it is needed to send the entire directory which was selected to save the exporting files and launch “Unity for Autodesk Revit.exe” from that directory on the recipient's computer.
The latest version is sooo much better ! Great job ! In just a few minutes you can walk or fly around your model for inspection or presentation. Can't wait for future releases.
Hi Brian, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us!
We have been doing CAD/Revit to Unity for over a year now and I just came across this add in. I have just tested it with small sections of buildings and it works great. It would be nice to be able to get the Unity file so I can edit that as needed.
Hi Erik, currently using Unity for Autodesk Revit you can export 3D model geometry with materials and textures from Revit directly to Unity for Autodesk Revit. But the export of 3D model from Revit to Unity project is not supported. Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
Great app, thanks! I also can not pass through windows and doors. Category assigned correctly.
Hi Sergey, there is parameter "height of hero" which is equal to 6 feet (1828.8 mm) in Unity environment. And it is not possible to pass through windows and doors if height is lower than that fixed value. Unfortunately, now that height value is fixed and cannot be customized. In case that doesn't help, please contact support@amcbridge.com
Only works on small to medium models. Once the file gets around 500 MB's or so, it crashes
Hi Victor, please contact support@amcbridge.com with a test model and clarify which process leads to crash.
This app is a great idea as I have manually converted Revit models to Unity and it is not a simple process. Unfortunately after every export Revit appears to be frozen, it does not say not responding but I cannot click anything in Revit. Also most the models I try export wont load in the viewer after (either stuck loading or load into nothing). I have only got one model to work which was great but would be a great tool if it worked all the time.
Hi Bryce Cromar. First of all regarding your issue with frozen Revit. The possible reason here is that Unity for Autodesk® Revit® dialog (a dialog where you select a folder for saving exported files) is not closed. Please try to minimize Unity for Autodesk® Revit® window and close Unity for Autodesk® Revit® dialog for selection of a folder to save files. Regarding your issue with models. The possible reason here is that every resulting 3D model (in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®) should be saved in new folder. If above doesn’t help, then please clarify the following and contact us on support@amcbridge.com: - scenario for reproducing this issue with screenshots; - Revit version; - OS version and type (32-bit/64-bit).
It was great now for walk-throughs but would like to have the revit model exported into unity and ready to work on it further.
Hi Sai Meghasyam K. Thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®. Export Revit model into Unity project will be implemented in future releases.
Good day! Dear support please can you tell me how to implement the ability to pass through the Windows and doors!
Hi Andrey Gaga! Unity for Autodesk Revit supports walking through windows and doors only if they have a value of category as “Window” or “Door”.
I really like this app for being able to give you a look inside of your designs. I like to use it to double check the feel in side my buildings. The time that it worked it was very useful. Unfortunately there's just too much working against this app. If you want to exit to continue modelling in revit you can not re-enter without restarting revit. While it could be a great asset in the design process this app is just too inefficient to be part of a workflow. But more importantly the app regularly (1 in 5 times for me) becomes buggy and won't operate. Once this happens the only way to get it to work again is to uninstall and reinstall. As mentioned above, even after installation it would become 'buggy' again within the hour. I'd really love for this app to be developed further, it was very useful the few times that it worked and I think it has alot of promised. But at the moment it's definitely not worth the considerable hassle of operating it. Honestly I'm a bit surprised Autodesk even released it in this state.
Hi Catherine Mcbride, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®. It was not release by Autodesk, but it’s a ‘technology preview’ released by AMC Bridge. If you have ideas how it can be improved please share your ideas and write us on support@amcbridge.com. If you or your clients are interested in an expert custom development, then we'd be happy to discuss the needs.
Great app, quick export, extremely easy interface/navigation. Still haven't figured out how to pass trough doors and windows, except turning off the category before export. Love this app.
Hi Marco Bonazza, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®. We can walk through windows and doors only if they have a value or category as Window or Door.
exactly what i am looking for
