Hi, great plug-in! Only question that I have is about the start position when you open the walk trough model, it locates me on the top of the roof. I would like to place this starting point to the ground-floor, in front of the front door for example.
Hi Martijn, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D™ for Autodesk® Revit. To modify the starting position, there is a need to place a human model where you would like to start the unity viewing. In order to find a human model: 1. Open Sample Architecture Project in Revit 2. Go to Project Browser > 3D Views > 3D 3. Click with right mouse button on a human > Edit family, then save as Family. In order to insert a human to your model: 1. Open your model in Revit 2. Go to Insert > Load Family, then browse saved Family with human 3. Go to Systems > Model > Component > Place a component 4. Place a human where you would like to start the unity viewing.
Hello, you created a great app. But I have a problem I can't walk through the doors. May you have some ideas about how to fix it.
Hi Viktor, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit. Currently this add-in is compatible only with English version of Autodesk Revit. Other possible reasons of the issue with passage through windows and doors: 1) Categories are not assigned to Window or Door. 2) Height is a window or door is less than "height of hero" parameter which equals to 6 feet (1828.8 mm). For now that parameter has fixed value and cannot be customized. If above doesn’t help, then please contact support@amcbridge.com and provide scenario for reproducing this issue with screenshots, test model, Revit version, OS version and type (32-bit/64-bit).
I know this.

How about export attributes?
Hi, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit. Please contact support@amcbridge.com and clarify what attributes you meant.
Exactly what i was looking for.Its work faster with the lighter model
Walk-Through-3D is definitaly a great app. In my case I have used it in my revit project and created the walk-through. However I wanted to put this walk-through in my web application to show it's capabilities. Guess what, I couldn't. Because it is creating an exe file + Data directory which is not possible to upload to the web server for the reasons you know. I then wanted to upload it to You Tube which again was not possible. The only way I thought was to convert it to a video format. But again this was not possible. Any suggestions ?
I'm only now downloading it to try it out but I plan on Simply recording myself walkthrough the space and then use the video for uploading.
Hi Serhat, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit add-in. Currently there is no web version of application. The only way is to use some app for screen recording.
Great app. Is it possible to import point clouds?
Hi Raimo, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us. In case if you meant meshes import, than it is not possible.
Very nice app!
But i have a question....
How to open the door??? XDD
Hi Olivia, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit. Currently this add-in is compatible only with English version of Autodesk Revit. It's working. But when I put some lamps (exam M_Street Light in Revit family). They don't light up. Help me!
Hi Thai, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit add-in. Please try to follow these steps to fix lightings: 1) Open model with lamp that don’t light and double click on it to edit family 2) Click on light source (it should be yellow web on the display area) and click “Light Source Definition” button on “Modify | Light Source” tab 3) Set “Emit from Shape” value to circle 4) Click “OK” button 5) Click “Load into Project” button and overwrite the existing version. If above doesn't help, please contact support@amcbridge.com.
Hello i would give the tool a 5 star but cant because of z-fighting which destroys immersion.
is there a simple way to reduce Z-Fighting before i export the project ? Or another solution?
cheers
Hi David, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit add-in. Your feedback is valuable for us. The described issue reproduces on our side when two or more primitives have similar or identical values in z-buffer. It is particularly prevalent with coplanar polygons, where two faces occupy essentially the same space, with neither in front. To avoid z-fighting before exporting project, please verify that the project has no interference. You can also fix z-fighting after exporting by holding “Z” button and click Left Mouse Button on the object which has that issue. If above doesn't help, please contact support@amcbridge.com
HI, this is a fantasic app! Great work. Is there any way to get it to work with the HP Windows Mixed Reality headset without expoting to Unity first. Just like when the Vive is used? Thanks
Hi Gary, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D add-in for Autodesk Revit. Currently that functionality is not supported, but it will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Hi, it's been a while, but if anybody still like to see Revit models in Window Mixed Reality headsets there is a one-click tool for that: https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=3837838607913367957
I'm having difficult using the HTC controllers to move around the model, the headset works and controllers are visible in the VR space however using the track pads does not move around the model space.
Hi Paul, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D add-in for Autodesk Revit. The issue with controllers is known. We are working on resolving that issue and new version with a fix is going to be available in the nearest future. Please send your contact information to support@amcbridge.com and we will inform you once new version is available.
can you sent any control
Hi Arrow, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D™ for Autodesk® Revit add-in. Please contact support@amcbridge.com and provide steps to reproduce the issue with screenshots, Walk-Through-3D™ for Autodesk® Revit version, Autodesk Revit version, OS version and type (32-bit/64-bit).
Is that possible that you provide monsters and guns, like they are in FPS games? It would be great experience to walk around already known architecture with the design team and have some fun, like in the game. During the game we could watch advantage and disadvanteges of the map (architecture). Regards.
Hi Wojtek, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D™ for Autodesk® Revit add-in. Thank you for sharing the ideas on how to improve the add-in. The proposed idea will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Worked seamlessly as promoted. Would be great to be able to modify the created files directly in Unity and/or have some more options within the app, such as changing wall/floor colours.
Hi John, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D™ for Autodesk® Revit add-in. The proposed idea about adding an ability to change colors will be taken into consideration while planning future releases. The export to unity feature is planned to be implemented in future releases.
Thank you for the great app. Please consider adding teleport and export to unity features.
Hi Juliya, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D™ for Autodesk® Revit add-in. The teleportation feature is available in 3.1.0.0 version of the add-in. Please download the latest version of the add-in from Autodesk App Store. The export to unity feature is planned to be implemented in future releases.
This is so awesome, This plug-in has a really great potential. You can add more features to this Like, Editing materials changing colors inside the game. I think the only problem for now is the camera height, it's a bit low. Other than that. the plug-in is amazing
Hi Christian, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit add-in. Your feedback is valuable for us. The proposed ideas will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Great idea, great realization, great app. For fast real time preview it's super easy and fast, for more serious usage needs a little bit more options and polish. Thanks!
Hi Mileta, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Autodesk Revit add-in. Your feedback is valuable for us. If you have ideas how to enhance the add-in, please share your ideas and write us on support@amcbridge.com
Very solid add-on for schematic phase demonstrations. I wish it more accurately handled the materials that are applied in Revit when converting though.
First of all, your add-in is great. I am currently wondering however if there is a way to determine where the character will start. For example, I would love to have my controlled camera starting in front of the front door. I figured that the camera start at 3 meters at the Y-axis and 3 meters at the X-axis relative to the base point. How can I change this? Greetings, Sandor
As an Engineering Student currently working on M.Sc. thesis about thermal/structual visualization and analysis using Unity3D, I think this plugin sets a great example of unity's protential. thanks! Looking forward to work with you oneday.
Hi Yuke, thank you for your interest in Walk-Throught-3D for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us. If you have ideas how to enhance the add-in, please share them and write us on support@amcbridge.com
I Love it so much and its really usefull and super easy to use. I just wish that they had the lighting from the lamps and a zoom out buttom, that would just make this app perfect!!! I hope it will come in the future, but its great so far to look around and make sure the installation is placed just right.
Hi Nina, thank you for your interest in Walk-Throught-3D for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us. The proposed idea will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Is this walkthroughs can able to the Private company website?
Hi Sandeep, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D for Rhino. Your feedback is valuable for us. Could you please clarify what do you mean?
This is a very quick way to transfer 3D and VR information but both on the HTC Vive and in the desktop environment I seem to be way too short when I leave fly mode. Needs a setting for eye level and a proper calibration with the Vive. Otherwise great tool!
Hi Alexander, thank you for your interest in Walk-Through-3D add-in for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us. Please contact support@amcbridge.com and provide scenario to reproduce the issue with screenshots.
Being able to export our model to Unity 5 after opening in Unity to Revit would make it even better, but It's still a great app.
Hi William, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. Your feedback is valuable for us. The proposed ideas will be taken into consideration while planning future releases. If you have other ideas how to enhance the application, please share your ideas and write us on support@amcbridge.com
This will be great when you can export the project to Unity... short of that please add the ability export to Google Cardboard for ios and android. Then this will be really useful.
Hi Mike, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. Your feedback is valuable for us. The proposed ideas will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Great way for architects to get started with VR, good work !!!
Hi Martin, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. You feedback is valuable for us!
Very nice app. Simple one click, great for reviewing the design. Would love to be able to select the sporn location, is this possible?
Hi Sam, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. There is a need to place a human model to the spot where you would like to begin moving. In order to find a human model: 1. Open Sample Architecture Project in Revit, 2. Go to Project Browser > 3D Views > 3D, 3. Click with right mouse button on a human > Edit family, then save as Family. In order to insert a human to your model: 1. Open your model in Revit, 2. Go to Insert > Load Family, then browse saved Family with human, 3. Go to Systems > Model > Component > Place a component, 4. Place a human where you would like to start the unity viewing. In case of further questions, please contact support@amcbridge.com
This app does exactly what it says on the tin. However, it would make a big difference in VR if there was a teleportation movement mechanic for people that suffer from motion sickness. Everyone I showed this to in the HTC Vive did not like the artificial or "controller" based method of moving. Teleportation is what we use in most projects so until it is implemented, I will not be able to use this plugin unfortunately.
Hi, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit add-in. Your feedback is valuable for us. The proposed idea about adding teleportation will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Excellent ! It works but i have not the ability to pass through the doors and windows. I think It's because I m french while Unity for Revit want the words "window' and "door" : what do you think about that and is there a solution ? Thank's
Hi Tony Charbonnier, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit.
Perfect, just what Revit needed!
Hi Pontus Jakobsson, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us!
Hi, there is any way can I use this app with Gear VR for samsung? Thanks
Hi David Amaya Gonzalez, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Currently that functionality is not available, but it will be taken into consideration while planning future releases.
Works like a charm. Makes revit to VR very easy. I do have 1 question: How does lighting work? i have put in some lamps but they do emit some light but not enough to light up the room.
Hi Aryen Jacobs, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Currently default brightness value is used for all lightings and there is no way to customize it. Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
Hi, first of all thank you very much for this great app ! It could be very interesting to be able to open the scene into Unity to modify stuff and parameters (like physics and interaction). Is there any way to import 3D model with physics building's into Unity ?
Hi Pscl Jnthn, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us! 4 Stars for the best "1 click" Revit to Unity plugin/solution. 5 stars when you add the edit in unity option! Thanks for a great plugin!
Hi Jacobus, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us! Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
is there anyway that we can adjust the materials after export? And is it possible to send this file so they can also view or is it just on the local machine?
The latest version is sooo much better ! Great job ! In just a few minutes you can walk or fly around your model for inspection or presentation. Can't wait for future releases.
Hi Brian, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk Revit. Your feedback is valuable for us!
We have been doing CAD/Revit to Unity for over a year now and I just came across this add in. I have just tested it with small sections of buildings and it works great. It would be nice to be able to get the Unity file so I can edit that as needed.
Hi Erik, currently using Unity for Autodesk Revit you can export 3D model geometry with materials and textures from Revit directly to Unity for Autodesk Revit. But the export of 3D model from Revit to Unity project is not supported. Please do not hesitate to contact us on support@amcbridge.com to share your ideas how to enhance Unity for Autodesk Revit.
Great app, thanks! I also can not pass through windows and doors. Category assigned correctly.
Hi Sergey, there is parameter "height of hero" which is equal to 6 feet (1828.8 mm) in Unity environment. And it is not possible to pass through windows and doors if height is lower than that fixed value. Unfortunately, now that height value is fixed and cannot be customized. In case that doesn't help, please contact support@amcbridge.com
Only works on small to medium models. Once the file gets around 500 MB's or so, it crashes
Hi Victor, please contact support@amcbridge.com with a test model and clarify which process leads to crash.
This app is a great idea as I have manually converted Revit models to Unity and it is not a simple process. Unfortunately after every export Revit appears to be frozen, it does not say not responding but I cannot click anything in Revit. Also most the models I try export wont load in the viewer after (either stuck loading or load into nothing). I have only got one model to work which was great but would be a great tool if it worked all the time.
Hi Bryce Cromar. First of all regarding your issue with frozen Revit. The possible reason here is that Unity for Autodesk® Revit® dialog (a dialog where you select a folder for saving exported files) is not closed. Please try to minimize Unity for Autodesk® Revit® window and close Unity for Autodesk® Revit® dialog for selection of a folder to save files. Regarding your issue with models. The possible reason here is that every resulting 3D model (in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®) should be saved in new folder. If above doesn’t help, then please clarify the following and contact us on support@amcbridge.com: - scenario for reproducing this issue with screenshots; - Revit version; - OS version and type (32-bit/64-bit).
It was great now for walk-throughs but would like to have the revit model exported into unity and ready to work on it further.
Hi Sai Meghasyam K. Thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®. Export Revit model into Unity project will be implemented in future releases.
Good day! Dear support please can you tell me how to implement the ability to pass through the Windows and doors!
Hi Andrey Gaga! Unity for Autodesk Revit supports walking through windows and doors only if they have a value of category as “Window” or “Door”.
I really like this app for being able to give you a look inside of your designs. I like to use it to double check the feel in side my buildings. The time that it worked it was very useful. Unfortunately there's just too much working against this app. If you want to exit to continue modelling in revit you can not re-enter without restarting revit. While it could be a great asset in the design process this app is just too inefficient to be part of a workflow. But more importantly the app regularly (1 in 5 times for me) becomes buggy and won't operate. Once this happens the only way to get it to work again is to uninstall and reinstall. As mentioned above, even after installation it would become 'buggy' again within the hour. I'd really love for this app to be developed further, it was very useful the few times that it worked and I think it has alot of promised. But at the moment it's definitely not worth the considerable hassle of operating it. Honestly I'm a bit surprised Autodesk even released it in this state.
Hi Catherine Mcbride, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®. It was not release by Autodesk, but it’s a ‘technology preview’ released by AMC Bridge. If you have ideas how it can be improved please share your ideas and write us on support@amcbridge.com. If you or your clients are interested in an expert custom development, then we'd be happy to discuss the needs.
Great app, quick export, extremely easy interface/navigation. Still haven't figured out how to pass trough doors and windows, except turning off the category before export. Love this app.
Hi Marco Bonazza, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk® Revit®. We can walk through windows and doors only if they have a value or category as Window or Door.
exactly what i am looking for
Hi Jack Wang, thank you for your interest in Unity for Autodesk® Revit® . If you have ideas how to enhance our product please share your ideas and write us.
Fly mode doesn't work, would like to see exported Unity project for further work. Export with textures - respect.
Hi Nikolay Gerasimov, please contact support@amcbridge.com.
"Unity for Autodesk® Revit®" - I love this game!
great app,expect so long time!
