설명

Compared to paper drafting, BIM makes it quick and easy to represent every element of a building in detail. For instance, just a few clicks can add in detailed beam systems showing profile specifications, attachment points, and spacing in all relevant views.

However, the ease of modeling in such detail also opens the door to miscommunication when other parties on a project make assumptions about the accuracy and reliability of the model, which can lead to unnecessary rework and lost time.

The LODmanager Autodesk® Revit® Plugin, developed by IKERD Consulting, helps bring clarity to BIMForum Level of Development (LOD) use in a model by adding LOD parameters to model elements, providing tools to easily modify LOD parameters, and allowing you to visualize varying levels of LOD in a single model.

This tool is simple, easy to use and provies a clear way to doucment the LOD state of elements.

LOD Numbers in a model are not a good way of evaluating if it has met the desired information requirements. LOD is a set of rules to be fulfilled by the modeled elements to meet certain requirements. It would be great if you could set those rules in and have the addin to search for them through Revit categories. That would be indeed more practical from a BIM Management Information Requirements verification.

The intent is not to analyze the "Level of Detail", but "Level of Development". It's easy to assume LOD based on geometrical complexity, but you most likely be wrong. LOD 300 means that this Model elements are ready for a 100% CDs. It's the intent information. "We are done designing it". I have long believed it should be part of Revit and any other AEC platform.
