Description

The plugin streams your point clouds and panorama images.

Simplified data management - Import point clouds of any size from multiple vendors from your local hard drive or corporate network. There is no need to split data, reduce detail, and create local copies. Even the largest point clouds work on a standard consumer computer.

Better quality in less time - Work with new visualizations that support your workflow and reveal even the smallest details. Use our X-ray view to instantly see walls and features without manually defining cropping planes and losing detail.

Integrated data - Qbitec for Autodesk® Revit® makes panoramas integral to your workflow. Display panoramic images directly in the Revit 3D view and overlay them correctly on your model.

Seamless streaming - Stream point clouds from NavVis directly into Revit without tedious export and data management.

Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

Trial Description

The trial version will work for 14 days. After installing the software and starting the command "Insert Point Cloud" in the Qbitec Ribbon, you will be asked to register with your email.

About This Version

Version 1.6.4, 4/29/2026
New Features - Revit 2021 Support: Qbitec is now compatible with Revit 2021. - Collaborative Management: You can now re-assign or add alternative point cloud locations via Manage Point Clouds. - Pano View Templates: Save current pano settings to a reusable Revit view template (QbitecPanoViewTemplate). Improvements - Performance: Up to 50% faster rendering on slower machines and quicker view switching. - NavVis IVION: Faster streaming via a new API, simpler login-based streaming without pre-configured sources, and added support for 360° photos. - E57 & Panoramas: Smarter panorama extraction (including Riegl scanners) and auto-loading for local point clouds missing a configured source. - Networking & Security: Better proxy detection/auto-configuration and secure external browser logins to bypass strict network policies. - UI Updates: Bulk visibility toggling and sorting in the Visibility Manager, full source names in the Insert dialog, and consolidated startup error messages. - Visualization: Added intensity blending to Quality Analysis to retain point cloud details under color maps. - System: Smaller, digitally signed installer with fewer dependencies to prevent antivirus false flags. Bugfixes - Stability: Fixed memory leaks when switching projects/views and prevented GPU crashes when loading large E57 panoramas. - NavVis: Fixed streaming on enterprise instances, issues with UTF-8 Windows usernames, and source reloading errors. - E57: Removed grid artifacts, fixed conversions for scans with invalid depth ranges, and reactivated gap-filling for spherical scans. - Revit Integration: Point clouds are now correctly hidden in Drafting Views. - Visualization settings sync reliably with Central, even without saving first. - Pano symbols now correctly follow prior point cloud rotations in reopened projects. - General: Fixed UNC network path handling, aligned Normal render colors with ReCap, corrected metric scaling for Quality Analysis, and improved linked-document validation.

Does AutoCad 2025 support this add-0n

    Tilo Pfliegner (Publisher) | October 07, 2025

It's for Revit only, currently, but we'd love to learn more about your use case and needs for an AutoCAD add-on.

  • Smooth Integration and Powerful Performance
Christian Jaekel | July 01, 2025 Verified Download (What's this?)

We added the plugin to our Revit workflow, and the difference was immediate. No more splitting or preprocessing of point clouds—everything streams in seamlessly. The X-ray mode is also very useful. The team delivers on performance, ease of use and visual quality. Thumbs up!

• Direct streaming Pointclouds from NavVis IVION in Revit
    Christian Rust | April 10, 2025

Realy great tool to stream Pointcloud data from NavVis IVION directly into Revit

    Oliver Bringmann | May 19, 2025

Yes :-), keeping the point cloud available for all users makes a lot of sense. It is always up-to-date and saves download times and hard disk space. You can work with the online point cloud with impressive visual quality thanks to efficient streaming. Meanwhile, you can also see the project structure created in NavVis directly in the plugin. By the way, we are currently preparing a webinar: https://www.navvis.com/resources/webinars/de/scan-to-bim-mit-navvis-qbitec-und-siemens

  • Smooth Modelling in Revit eben with REALLY big pointclouds
    Kai Keser | March 19, 2025

At the moment we are modeling the existing piping systems in the technical storey of a wafer fab. As you can imagine the file size is massive. Before we used qbitec, we needed to separate the point cloud into smaller areas and download and load them into the model manually.

+ With qbitec we have the full sized point cloud as a reference and Revit works smooth as ever!

+ The point cloud view mode x-ray really helps us identifying and modeling the piping systems in areas with high pipe density.

Great to have this plugin, thanks to the devs 👍🏻

Thank you very much. Let us know if we can improve anything! We have many ideas of our own, but user requests are, of course, particularly motivating.
